OK fellas, the firesteel is all assembled/glued up and I'll get her shaped and oil the handles this afternoon. Should get it sent out to Talfuchre Monday, I have another project going out anyway.
I can't say enough about that wenge. I'm picky about wood and this is really nice. Gorgeous, high-contrast grain and it shapes up nice and smooth, with just a touch of openness similar to mahogany or rosewood.
The blade is pretty nice, too! I haven't used it on anything for fear of scratching it up, but the bevel is nice and thin, and the edge RichardJ put on it is just frightening. Nice work, gents!
I'm sorry to say I don't have a camera set up at this time. Maybe I can borrow one this weekend. No promises though.
