Waffling! or Help my decide WHICH knife to complete my new resolution with

Our opinions, while interesting, are irelevant.

The only thing that matters is your personal peace of mind.

I suggest the following. Get several potatoes and slice them up. One patatoe per knife and at the same time. Next, cut several sticks out of your brush, cut off the twigs and make several sticks and make feather sticks. Lastly, cut down a cardboard box and reduce it to strips of cardboard, again using your finalists side by each.

Ooh, a test! That's a good idea!

I've been trying very hard to just watch this thread and not comment, but I feel that at this time I must interject. You know which one you want to carry, we know which one you want to carry, why are you still "deciding"? Just drop the Schrade (see what I did there? A little knife humor tonight) and drop the TJ into your pocket and get it over with already!

something about having someone just ..lay it out there in black and white isnt there?

I think your Tidioute? (the fourth knife shown) would make the best all around knife. I originally thought the trapper but this one will work a little better.

Lol. Btw, I'm going to, do your little one knife thing. Except there is no waffling here. I'll start my own thread, just thought you should know you aren't alone. :)

gee wonder which knife your gonna choose?
hey! its Medicevans "My little Pony show"!

That made my night man. Lol. Funny stuff. And yes, it's going to be the peanut.

no, seriously. thats the title of your new thread!
Medic's "My Little Pony" Show

Do it! Do it!

So are you doing 1 knife and 1 knife only? or 1 knife in one pocket everyday and rotating 2nd pocket knife in the other?

Challenge accepted, gauntlet picked up sir! Lol

I will carry only the PJ 98% of the time. I may carry an additional knife on special days. My daughter's knife on her birthday, the Opinel on my wedding anniversary, but they are really just lucky charms at that point. The pony jack is my knife.

Btw, what did you decide?

I am still eating here :D

hahahaha!
well i am glad you got it at last :D

to be honest, chicken eyeing your new pony jack has me reconsidering my 85

i believe it was kamagong (i'll double check in a moment) that made the statement, you cant ever truly replace a pocket companion, you can replace to model but not the journey or memories. One of the things that always made me a little leery is if i lost it i dont think i can replace it (seriously i havent seen a ebony bullet jack that wasnt an EO since i got it) But the smooth ebony scales feel so nice in hand and with a touch of care they will probably outlive me (if i dont lose or break it)....

either way i got another day or two to lock it down :p

**it was Kamagong, just in the other thread that said that**
:D

I had a Lennox Cutlery swell end that I gave away a bit ago that was close to 100 years old and after a little lemon oil the ebony covers looked almost new. Ebony is a fantastic cover material.

I will tell you something I think about regarding losing a knife. I'd rather have the time and memories using a knife and take a chance of losing it than keep it put away where it will never be used just because I'm afraid it will lost. Loved and lost rather than never to have loved kind of thing.

Something to think about anyway.

The trapper is a bit of an odd duck. much bigger than my normal carry, but for someone who wants to get more active in the outdoor scene (camping, teaching some wilderness skills to the niece and nephew) it makes a great all purpose knife that is adept at woodsy and urban activities.

Ryan

If I was to limit myself to one knife
Then I would carry what I will be using for my personal recreation time
Not what is good for work

You are explaining how the trapper is the knife that you want to use most to be outdoors and passing on skills to your niece and nephew
You call it the most adept
