Walking dead kind of night

It was too short for any Busse unless it was the dragon's tooth (unlikely)

But what we NEED now is a purpose built INFI katana for the zombies.

Think AK XL with more of a katana blade geometry, its been in my idea mill for a while...

mmmmmm one can only dream...

Laurie, at this time unless she changes real soon, needs ate.

Carl is getting annoying too.

I want Hershal's shotgun, that thing seemed to shoot 30-40 shells continuously before it finally ran dry.

And....seeing this episode really shows the importance of a good AR with a couple 100 round Surefire mags, or a good suppressed 10/22 and suppressed 22 semi auto handgun with about 20 mags each.

+1 on the suppressed 10/22. 1000 rounds? Yeah, it's in the fanny pack.

We've talked about this multiple times on another forum. This is one area where the show kinda deviates from reality too much but with purpose. Any fool, especially in the south, can walk in to wal-mart and buy a bulk pack of .22lr for around $17-$20 right? Well think of how boring the series would be if a semi-auto rifle was introduced. You could easily set up a guard tower and nail hundred of walkers, possibly creating a barrier made from walkers out of the piling corpses...with ONE 10/22. But then there is no edge-of-your-seat/anxiety that is created by slow/limited nature of the long guns they do use (bolt/pump).

That being said I can almost guarantee that this Governor and his minions are going to have AR's and possibly MP5's that they either took from the armory/weapons hold or had half a brain to pick up from military setups where Rick-n-the-gang just stumbled idly by. From what the kid was saying, it sounds like M60's, RPG's, etc. are not out of the question either...

Think of how boring it would be it they got some chain mail and a hockey helmet. No chance of people getting hurt at that point.

Here's your antithesis:

But I suppose you could consider "not having Twinkies" his pain and suffering.

I was thinking motocross gear with full leather gaultlet gloves with Busse made spikes on the nuckles..

Full face helmet, a few MP5s twin glock 34's in drop holsters ..

Mount a SAW on a civilian hummer with a sunroof ...

Also, somebody should have set up a loud noise making device with a couple of cattle in a cage. This would attract the zombies and then they could be "disposed of" humanely.
Anyone remember the "Thumper" from Dune?

I would have spared the cattle and tossed Laurie in the cage. She makes more noise then a herd of cattle and has less sense then a stampede.

spoiler

as per the graphic novel, she has the walker's chained near her to ward off other walker's by assocation with them. they should also have their lower jaw's removed as well as their arm's. no grabby, no bitty.

Also of spoiler note, those two eventually stopped attacking Michonne after a while, though it was never really explained why or how in the books.

World War Z went over that to an extent. A guy on roller skates with a hockey stick/ice skate blade attached, was rolling around Manhattan taking down zombies, when one stuck it's hand out from a sewer drain, and pulled him in.

As far as Michonne goes, she was great in the comic. A woman walking around with a katana is too far fetched for a show about the zombie apocalypse? I'm one of the few out there without cable, can't wait until the show comes out on DVD.

I haven't got to the Governor's arc in the comics yet but I believe in the comics, the Governor's crew has a tank if I recall.

I've been stunned by the lack of concerted effort to harvest supplies and weapons from Police Stations, National Guard Armouries etc etc. As for the tank, they could easily have the abandoned one from the first season. Would take a lot of gas to keep it running though.

I thought the final episode this series was ok. Lots of thinning of the herd and Rick manning up at long last. The mad driving about shooting was a bit annoying as I'd have thought slow and steady was the way to go. Like Herschel and his shotgun. All you have to do is stay a few dozen yards ahead and have some exit plan.

And now the wait for season 3, it's going to be a long summer.
