Walking dead kind of night

*Comic Book Spoiler alert*
That was an awesome season finale, I wonder if they'll use the serial killer inmate at the prison story arc from the comic.
It should be fun to see them clearing the walkers out of the prison.

emt here is a pic of me sitting waiting for the next round of the contest to begin. Typically course have 10 ballons on poles to be shot with 2 revolvers firing blackpowder 45 blanks. Think barrel racing or pole bending with guns.

I've been stunned by the lack of concerted effort to harvest supplies and weapons from Police Stations, National Guard Armouries etc etc. As for the tank, they could easily have the abandoned one from the first season. Would take a lot of gas to keep it running though.

I thought the final episode this series was ok. Lots of thinning of the herd and Rick manning up at long last. The mad driving about shooting was a bit annoying as I'd have thought slow and steady was the way to go. Like Herschel and his shotgun. All you have to do is stay a few dozen yards ahead and have some exit plan.

And now the wait for season 3, it's going to be a long summer.

Is is going to be a long summer as Tera Nova was cancelled ,Falling Skys is coming back though :barf:.I did watch Falling Skys although I did not think it was that great.I have about forgot the plot line as they went so long between seasons.

It's about damned time someone used a sword. Seriously, zombies... what's better for removing a head without making lots of noise?

And it's about time Rick grew a pair. His wife is awful for her reaction.

I think Laurie's life is going to get a lot harder here next season after that as in he didn't look very happy at all with her. :D

And he knows she caused all of that trouble in the 1st place.

Dave-

Nice pic. No offense but...blanks?!?! What is the point?? Usually you have poppers or steel of some sort to hit. Is it all about firing a gun from a horse or something?

Thanks

I've been looking at my Gladius thinking maybe the Romans have a good idea or two that I could use to fight off the zombies. How about some sort of palisade/entanglement that would slow or stop the zombies and use their own weight against them? I could then saunter up with improvised shield in hand and lop a few heads off while they struggle on the defences pinned by their own weight.

The good part is I could use many of my Busses to fell all the local trees I'd need to make these stakes. This in turn would open up my arcs and give me a bigger killing field for my archers/riflemen. It's all win.

AMC is contracted to produce 16 episodes for season 3. They are extending next season with three extra episodes. The show broke their own record with 9 million viewers last night! Season 2 averaged 6.9 million viewers per episode. Up 32% from season 1!

It's because they had a decent departure from the 100% drama seen in the first half of this season...otherwise I probably would have stopped watching by now and I wouldn't be alone. This show needs to be 20-30% drama/tension and the rest plans/action/killing...done.

Drama is much cheaper to film.

blanks for saftey, there are spectators and with the patterns changed each time you don't want live rounds just flying around in all directions. The blanks are good out to 20 ft but you still need to be on target.

You have to pop the balloons, doing that at 25 to 30 miles an hour on a horse takes some practice.

I watched some of that last summer, fun stuff.

I saw it once live, wow!

Good for you doing it it takes a lot of control and horsemanship.

We did a side match in golf carts one time, that was much much easier. The hardest thing is getting your horse used to running at the ballons waving in the wind, thats tougher than getting them used to gunfire.

Awesome stats!! It's pretty cool to think that 9 million people are most likely reacting the same way I am  Zombies on chains.... Sweet!

The EP's (executive producers) and writers have heard the requests of the viewers to cut back on the "character development", i.e. drama and add more action, "whacking zombies". Season 3 is going to be "killer". Quite frankly, many were afraid that when the budget of 3.4 million per episode was cut to 2.75 million by AMC. The show would not succeed in the second season. A $650,000.00 cut in production is huge. Combine this with the fact that they were on a 8 day per episode shooting schedule. Joel Stillerman wanted the shooting to be 4 days inside 4 days outside. At the time of the story arc. This was truly asinine. What's everybody going to do? Gather around the family dinning table and talk about "walkers". With season 3 taking place in a prison. Plenty of indoor shooting on a set. I am sure he is turning cartwheels right now.
