Walking dead kind of night

The EP's (executive producers) and writers have heard the requests of the viewers to cut back on the "character development", i.e. drama and add more action, "whacking zombies". Season 3 is going to be "killer". Quite frankly, many were afraid that when the budget of 3.4 million per episode was cut to 2.75 million by AMC. The show would not succeed in the second season. A $650,000.00 cut in production is huge. Combine this with the fact that they were on a 8 day per episode shooting schedule. Joel Stillerman wanted the shooting to be 4 days inside 4 days outside. At the time of the story arc. This was truly asinine. What's everybody going to do? Gather around the family dinning table and talk about "walkers". With season 3 taking place in a prison. Plenty of indoor shooting on a set. I am sure he is turning cartwheels right now.

Isn't this AMCs biggest hit ever? Why on earth would they cut the budget?

I like better Spartacus Tv series. The walking dead drama and action and a bit slow going. Nobody have the mind set about killing in that scenario, which for me is a downfall.

This Michonne is on to something. How many walkers does it take to pull a plow? A car, who needs gas with all these walkers around?
I like guns as much as the next guy, but a sword and a spear would make so much more sense. How many times have these guys been trapped, but in a position to use a spear? Otis and Shane at the school, on the bleachers and when they closed the gate of a door way, the spear could have taken out everyone of those Walkers. When Rick and Carl were in the barn, go up the ladder, and spear any Walker that comes up, a long enough spear could have reached the Walkers from a safe vantage point.
Even a sword could be used at a chain link fence, you wouldn't have to be trained to poke it through a hole into a Walker's head. Just my $.02.

I can see where a spear or sword would have its place in a zombie infested world, however i would still have atleast a few guns handy.

WHY NO DOGS..
Seriously why do we see no dogs.
Every post apocolyptic hero needs a dog.
A good German Shepherd would be the ideal companion, letting you know when the walkers were near, they could tell from a loooong way off by smell.
They could also be used to track your missing members.

Do the dogs get a version of this like I am Legend?

If so where are the walker k9s they would be a PITA..

I think we need a few dogs in the next season some big dogs with gigantic Spiked collars like they put on Sheep Gauridan dogs...

I also think a good chainsaw would be a great CQB tool a nice lightweight version, also some flame throwers and dig some giant pits (dozers Backhoes) away from your encampment and fill them with oil or Deisel to burn masses of the zombies..

That guy in the movie survived with his dog for three years in that hole. A woman shows up one night and he dies the very next.

Comparing to Lori? No. I'm just saying. :)

Of course, there's a time for shooting, a time for spearing, a time for slicing, and a time for running. There's plenty of times to be quite and save ammo. When you can corale the Walkers into a strong barrier, why waste ammo? That's when a spear could be the best tool. In the open, against just a few, a sword would be my choice. Still quite, and even if you're not trained in sword play, the Walkers aren't either. They won't be ducking or swinging back. Even a novice could take out a knee so their head would be in a better spot for a death blow. If you work as a group or in pairs, the spear and sword could be the safest way to deal with just a few Walkers. Spear one in the front, while your partner takes off their head from the back.
Guns would be great in certain situations, but I'd be prepared to run out of ammo at some point. Keeping the gun, in hopes of finding more ammo later.

... did anyone notice how Michonne sliced the zombie's head off at the neck, and the head simply fell more or less on top of Andrea?

I'd be moving away from that head if I were her

A lot of blood spray in her direction too. Hope she covered her face.

I wonder if blood spray is a problem anymore, since they let it be know this episode that everyone is already infected....if you die, you turn into a zombie
even if you aren't bit.

Sooooo, why does being bit by a zombie kill you? That's the only part that don't make sense now. You become double infected? :)

+1 on the Lori hate by the way. She sucks. Wasn't she the chick who was telling her husband that Shane was dangerous and wanted her back and OMG he better do
something thing about it? Now she's mad he's dead? Bleh.

I think you will find two strains..

Air born= cannot kill you too weak, but can take over the host when body is dead and immune system can no longer fight it.

blood born= Will eventually kill you hours or days, depending on how strong your immune system is,, in fact we should find some that are immune if we go long enough averages show that a certain percentage will have immunity to a given virus..

Depends if it's a virus or not. It hasn't been confirmed. It could be fungal, parasitic, even divine causes.

It's possible that zombies just have very dirty mouths, too. Think komodo dragon. There could very well be two different diseases at play here, like you said.

I never got the impression the virus/disease was bloodborn, as I recall many zombie battles that involved our beloved characters getting all kinds of zombie juice on their hands, arms, clothes, etc. I'm not sure. Perhaps one of our graphic novel readers can clarify?

At any rate, dang I love this show.

Watch Justified at 10pm on Tuesday nights on FX to satiate you until the new season starts. It is every bit as good a show, with great writing, and to boot they seem to be recycling the entire Deadwood cast over the span of it's now 3 seasons.

BTW, do I have to own a Busse to be in here? Been eyeballin' a CGFBM for some time now. :)
