Walking Dead Season 5 (HEADS UP: Possible Episode Spoilers May Be Posted Within)

Shane would have killed Eugene a long time ago!:D

^^^^^^:D. I really liked Shane until he went totally nuts. He had the right attitude to "survive" in the new world order. While Dale was a moralistic ass, and Rick was still being a bit of a moralistic woosie, Shane made the tough (and in my opinion, correct) decisions. While the others were debating what to do with the punk kid they captured (who had recently tried to kill them), Shane was ready to just kill him and end any possible future threat from him. Rick and others wanted to take him far away and turn him loose! Shane made the right call about the "walkers" in the barn, too. I felt no regret when Dale bit the dust. I didn't regret Shane, either, after he went totally nuts, but up until then, I liked him. My wife and I had several arguments about him. She thought he was evil all along, whereas I thought he was very "practical" in his decisions given the situation. ;)

I still don't think that Shane really went nuts. He had a good thing going and then Rick showed up, pulled rank on him and took over his group. He was just further along in apocalypse mode than Rick because he slept thru the worst of it. Shane could've just left but the fact that Lori was pregnant with what very well may have been his kid really complicated things.

was just thinking that... it was easy for Rick to judge Shane being crazy when Rick's mind was still closer to the way things were before... while I don't think Rick is as blindly ruthless as Shane seemed to be getting, Rick has gone bat shit crazy, and seems to have understood that Shane had a point with doing what needs to be done... kind of like a better safe than sorry approach (...but with zombies).

if season 1 Rick trapped those terminus cannibals in the church, he would have made some speech about maintaining humanity and not killed them. After a few months of brutality- he now firmly believes in "preventative maintenance".

That. Shane was the only one I would have trusted in the long run. And it wasn't Shanes fault lori was a whoor..:)

I just plain don't like the way these characters think....frankly, they are all a big bunch of worthless losers. There is no one in the group who seem capable of planning or building or working through anything, each one just sits there wallowing in endless self-pity. If these were real survivors, they would be living the "life of Riley". They would have taken over a significant structure, they would have furnished it and stocked to comfortably meet their needs for years, they would have acquired plenty of arms and good armored ground and air transportation, they would have functioning field communications, a command center and plenty of electrical power. Keep in mind that resources are everywhere, their credit cards have no limit and everything can be had without a pesky license requirements. Need electrical work done, need some plumbing, a permit is no longer required so just get some tools and do it. The only reasons for not having all of that in place now are stupidity and laziness, and that is what the present group represents to me.

Exactly. Rick has changed to the point where he is almost at the same point that Shane was. Even before he trapped the termites in the church, when they escaped terminus he WANTED to go back and finish them off not even knowing for sure if they were going to come after them. That's straight Shane right there. A little more and he'll be thinking exactly like Shane and won't have any problems with killing a guy from another group just because he can't be trusted........just like Shane wanted to do back at Herschels ranch.

This comparison with Shane and Rick is a great Talking Dead topic! We should be guests on the show. :D

Just remember, it's all up to Kirkman and the writers.;) The actors are just playing the roles scripted for them.

We'd probably just end up yelling at Kirkman about Daryls knife for an hour. Haha!

:thumbup::thumbup: Kirkman needs to "write" a Busse back into the show! They need to "find" a body with a TGLB or something along those lines. I don't like Daryl carry cheap Chinese "junk", and I'm certain after having a TG he can't be happy with anything less than a Busse!;)

I think the group is trying their best to remain good people. They could have easily stood there quietly while Eugene drank water that could possibly kill him but it just isn't in the groups nature. I bet Shane would have been ok with it, I wish he was still around to add to the excitement. He was pretty cute too :p

At this point I am afraid that I would be very Shane like. Trust no one.

And I would have shot Eugene just for the hassle he created with his lies about DC. I also would not have just walked into Terminus. Send in a few and keeps eyes on from a distance to see what happened. And this new guy who just showed up, no way I would just assume he is a good guy. Prepare for the worst and then things can only improve from there.

not sure if this has been talked about- but I don't understand how the group isn't at all wondering about why they keep coming across "killed" zombies or even the carnage at Noahs community (dead zombies, some destroyed roofs/homes, and the retaining wall)...
do they just assume that marauders are out there everywhere at this point?
I have a feeling they'll be coming across the reasons for the dead zombies sooner than later... maybe even already if that new guy is part of it.

Heck, you'd think that during the first hard freeze of winter you could safely walk around and just start shattering frozen zombie heads with a hammer.

Anybody else ever wonder why not a single one of them has had a bicycle? Silent transportation that never runs out of gas. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Would be too easy for a Walker to pull you off the bike. Also, if you have weapons and tons of gear, how are you going to transport it on a bicycle?

Good screen grab Dave! I just got a quick glimps of the knife in his sheath when I watched the program and was hoping he had his old busse back. Thought maybe Carol had grabbed it when she got Ricks watch and the crossbow (although the crossbow is NOT the same one he had in season one). Guess this photo confirms that he does not have his old knife. Bummer!:grumpy::thumbdn:

Nope! Only thing Carol grabbed was the crossbow and Rick's watch.

I just don't understand why they can't give Daryl a new knife if they don't want to feature that one anymore. Just give him a new one! What's so hard about that?! Why keep playing pretend that he still has it.... by featuring an obvious prop that they think nobody notices.
