Want or need or deserve a free buck knife ?

I would appreciate another Buck knife, Lord knows I love my 110s & 503 folders. When I was a 10 yo kid, I had a cheap knock-off 110 made in pakastan that I bought at a flea market. Every Christmas I would ask for a "real" Buck knife but I never got one. Now as time goes by, I buy myself knives (& guns:D) when I can to make up for lost time as a young kid. I have quite a few 110s & other Buck (American made ONLY) folders and fixed blades ;). As a dad I share my love of the outdoors with my daughter (and hopefully a son in the near future).

and has done the half smile and batted eyelids when showing me
a classic 111 or some other pirty like my Koie folder..;)

Once upon a time I lived with a woman who had been a denizen of Hollywood literally her whole life. She had been married to a lighting director who drank and drugged himself to death in his early 40s. He left her no money, having put it up his nose and lost it on the ponies, but he did leave her some things. Among his relics was a Buck knife similar in appearance to what Buck now calls its "Ranger" knife, a big, very heavy hunting knife with a 3-3/4" blade, which she gave to me. She called it a "gaffer's knife." Gaffers (lighting technicians in movies and TV) must cut through wires, electrical tape, and a heavy-duty form of duct tape called gaffer's tape. It was incredibly strong and took a fine edge. When I've gone camping, every other guy's knife was clunky and dull in comparison. Well, about a month ago, exterminators "tented" the place I live, and the crew ransacked my apartment, stealing various odds and ends, including my beloved knife, to which I now realize I had become very attached in the 15 years I owned it. In the past couple of days, I've shopped on the web for a knife to replace it, although I despair of replacing its sentimental value. I want my knife back.

Heyyyyyyy!
I'll drop my name into the hat. Why not?
I'd like to say, however, that this buck knife would not be for me... it would be a gift for an uncle, as a "thank you" for taking me on such nice hunting trips over the last couple years.

Thanks for the chance!

Thanks for the chance. I would like a buck knife just because I have never had one before except the knock-offs and I would like to have atleast one in my collection

I'll jump in on this one. I have several Bucks, and they're my 'give-away' knife when a kid I know make it to Eagle (Scouts) here. I usually get them used or new, cheap on fleabay, clean them up & polish them up nice. The boys love them.

I could also use a 'user' 119; I have a 2002 anniversary model, but I'd like a non-commem. for camping.

Thanks for the giveaway, and congrats in advance to whoever does win it!

thx - cpr

After I first enlisted, and on my first deployment, I was issued a buck folder. Numerous deployments and several years later, It somehow got mixed up in the fray and was left in the desert. It served me well, and I'd sure love a replacement.

Okay, I'm sure there are plenty of guys (or gals) out there who deserve this knife more than me. That still doesn't keep me from wanting it. I've bought 2 new Buck knives this past year, vs. only having owned 1 in the 10 years prior. Unfortunately, I lost my 110 Alaskan guide knife I bought in 2004, and the awesome A. G. Russell's leather sheath that I carried it in. No, it wasn't while performing some heroic act, or deed. It was stolen from my parents' house by a passer-through. Replacing that knife is a priority for me. I'm also looking into the Alaskan Guide fixed blade hunter, as well.

I'm a pretty decent guy. I love my wife and kids, and make it a priority to spend time with my family. I give a good effort at work. I treat my friends like I want to be treated, and I try to see my enemies' point of view.

So, thanks for offering the knife. If I win it, I'll probably keep it. I like knives, after all. I might be tempted to give it away, though.

Thanks again,
Daniel

I need a buck knife, since I only have one I want to give to my son. That one has a story.
But... since I have twin boys, I need another one to give away, another one with a story :D

btw, they are 15 months old now, they'll have to wait a lot of years ;)

I'd love to own another Buck knife!

Ok, I'd love to own several more Buck knives but this giveaway is only for one.

I was honored to meet Chuck Buck three years ago. Very nice man. Got his autograph too. Would have liked to have gotten one of the knives he had signed but I still have that brochure too.

but this giveaway is only for one.
.

ugh i read that to the wife ...
she said who said there was only one?
then she went to sleep so
who knows? dang if i do !!
will have to read the fine print when i get her home!

OK Dave,

I've decided which one of your Buck knives I want you to give me (saw in some of your pictures). Its that S30V Droppoint in really nice Sambar Stag, no FG! I think I'll like that one really, really well. Thank you in advance. Please let me know when it will be arriving to Maine!! :D

The Buck 110 is a classic. I would give it one of the many people in service of our country. I meet many of them and they would appreciate this noble gesture.

I love buying Buck knives. The only thing I could imagine better would be to be given one. While I have given them away, including one without my knowledge, I have never received one. Thanks for the opportunity.

I honestly don't own a Buck knife since I recently started collecting but damn I fell in love with those wood/bone handle designs. They are very classy and really would be an honor to carry something that nice lookin.

I guess I could use one. I mean, if you're offering. If it's a 110, it could keep my Schrade LB-7 company. I think it's my only American made knife. I don't have any Buck knives either.

Thanks for the chance to win.

I would love the Buck
If I just had the Luck
So enter me in
Here's hopes that I win.:D

NO I don't really need it.

Dave, I like The Longbows idea, but will take it a step further......I think it should go to someone in your local scout troop. I'm sure their scout master could find someone who "wants it, needs it, deserves it" a lot more than I do.

 Bump!

No, I do not deserve a free knife, but I do have a good use for one. I teach woodcraft and wilderness survival to boy scouts in my communitty. I emphasize that tools are less important than the skill with which you use them, especially in emergency situations. I doing this I try to expose them to many different tools and techniques and show them that whatever you have with you can work for you if you are smart and cool headed. I would use the Buck to increase the variety of knives I share with them when practicing outdoor skills.
