Warning Regarding "blademan007"

Guys, "Recalled the mail" sounds about as plausible as teaching a pig to whistle. This guy is a flake and fraud. He needs to be some bubba's babe in jail.

The very fact that he is not here defending himself, proves he is a crook. I think it's time for someone to go to Utah and give him a blanket party.

...just a word about Frank, as I feel moved to give a quick character reference.

What's amazing to me about this situation is that if this person called Frank and said "...you know sir, I don't have the money but I really want to buy that knife...", Frank would have given it to him, scott free. That's the kind of man he is...he has done it for me, and countless others with knives and custom sheaths. His generosity of spirit is completely special and quite rare.

So, it's a shame to see him beaten out of his money like this, especially when he is as generous as he is...

Frank...get with me off line...I will help you anyway I can...

I say screw forgiving him....If you have to jump through hoops trying to make someone do the right thing, they don't deserve forgiveness.
Think about it. If it weren't for this site, and this forum specifically, this putz would probably get away with this.

The USPS lost a Priority Mail package I had sent, containing a $135 knife. I ended up having to refund the $135...Why? Because it's the right thing to do. Not because somebody might tell everyone here in this forum that I screwed them out of $135...Not because they might notify the Postmaster..No, I did it because it's the right thing to do.
Although I did post here asking for opinions on what to do, as some may recall. Understand though, I already knew what to do and had no intentions of doing anything else.

Personally, I'd like to see this thief banned for life....

Though I know it is the right thing to forgive this guy, it is difficult for me to do because I have given him so many chances to a.) make it right, b.) explain "in detail and truthfully" what exactly happened with his priority mails and money orders, and/or c.) help me investigate the problem by acting in "good faith" as the legal term goes by performing a few very easy tasks.

You should see the 15 or so e-mails I sent this guy with specific details on how to help me investigate the problem. One of which he ackowledged, agreed to act, and never did. Most, he simply didn't reply at all.

I am fed up with his sparse, untimely and uncooperative answers.

I talked to another custom maker, who will remain nameless here, who told me that this same guy called up and changed his order on a custom several times after placing his original order. The knifemaker had to explain to him that on a custom order, you can't simply change your order continuously throughout the process. At some point, you have to come to a final decision and say "make it". The knifemaker cannot "remake" a knife that has been "made" or scheduled for processing.

Incidentally, with all due respect I asked this guy if he had a learning disorder. Because if so, I did not want to be arguing with someone who may not be able to understand that they are doing wrong. He indicated quite clearly that he did not.

I would rather try to be, I guess, "devine" as they say and forgive.
However, right now I am at a loss.

Sorry to be cliche guys, but thanks again for all the support.

Out.

As has been mentioned, don't hold your breath. It sounds to me as if Blademan_007 never intended to pay you and is now just making up a bunch of stories to cover his treachery.

Get a Postal Inspector involved. Then do you feel you have to to recover your money. As you say, it is the principle that counts.

Frankly I am surprised Michael sent me the box for two reasons.

1.) It is the first in a series of promises he actually performed.
2.) The box, in my mind, incriminates him.

I will get a picture of the box posted when I can. Until then you guys will have to take my word for its condition.

The side of the box which was opened with a knife, or some sharp object, has only been opened once.

Why?

1. The box has a very large UPS Label on it which takes up 50% of this cut side. The label has been cut through only once with one single stroke.
2.) The box has a secondary label immediately adjacent to the UPS Label marked "Adult Signature Required" which takes up about another 15% of the same cut side. This label only has the same single cut through it.

The box does have a very small dent with protrusion damage on one of the bottom edge creases. However, it is not nearly large enough to have aquired the blade and pulled it through.

The box has only the original tape it had from our shipping department. This tape, both linearly(long part) and both cross sections (end pieces) has only a single cut through each end.

I did entertain the idea that maybe someone reached in the box with a tool somehow and extracted contents. But I suspended this notion as it would have compromised the tape and label combined, and they thus would not have allowed the lid to be opened enough to search and extract without damage and a secondary cut (tear).

My conclusion: This box was opened only once by the receiver.

I suppose at least I got the box.

I never have been to the post office to ask if a Priority Letter (his money order) can be recalled by sender days after it has been deposited.

Fed up and tired of dealing with it.

My conclusion: Don't do business with this guy!

Out.

Priority Letters cannot be recalled. They are not trackable like UPS or FEDEX. I tried tracking a package that had Delivery Confirmation on it. No go said the Postmaster. They can only know where it was shipped from and where it is recieved. Nowhere in between. Hope that's what you meant.

Now.. where's that blanket

1.) "Blademan 007" never sent any payments and I suspect never obtained the money order(s). He also never faxed me any proof that he ever had (i.e. Money Order(s), or Priority Mail Cash Receipt)

2.) The box was opened only by him and he received the knife.

3.) Blademan 007 aka "Michael White" is nothing more than a thief and a liar. He never intended to conduct an "honest transaction".

4.) If he ever chooses to make this transaction right, I will post notification here for everyone to be aware.

Final thanks to all who supported here and via e-mail.

Out.

BTW, even if the knife had somehow fallen out in transit, the receiving party has the responsibility to note any obvious exceptions (an open Box) and notify the post office. Once he accepts the package as is (presumably after he inspects it) then he has voided your shipping insurance. Any way you cut it his story doesn't add up. Report him to the authorities.

BTW, I'm sorry to hear about this. I have had nothing but positive experiences on this site.

GPB,

The reason this guy doesn't care about being banned is that he has already exiled himself from this site. I just checked and the very last post that Blademan_007 made was the 6/25 post on your thread. That speaks pretty clearly to his intent.

I shipped it UPS but I would guess the same policy of which you report is probably true of them as well.

I carefully inspected the box and the blade was wrapped heavily in plastic. He simply opened it and decided he had it, so why should he send money.

I won't let him ruin my great experiences here on the forum. Every other forumite I have sold a knife to has been honest, prompt and appreciative which is not necessary because they have paid for the piece.

I will report him to both UPS and the USPS.

I am sure he is lurking and reading these posts because I sent him more than one e-mail advising I would post about it on the forums.

Know this Michael: The knife community is small. Therefore, the next time you see that GREAT blade that you have to have, if the seller has read this, and so far this thread has over "1400 reads", you probably won't be able to get it.

I have given you one last chance by e-mail to send me either the money or the knife back (my expense). So far, you have chosen not to respond.

The choice is yours. I hope you make the right one.

Like others, I have done business with Frank and know him to be absolutely fair and honest. I know that he would only bring this matter to the G,B, & U forum as a last resort.

The evidence Frank has presented leaves little room for doubt in this matter.

I hope that you will accept Frank's offer and make the situation right.

Frank,
You should ask Spark to make sure he didn't just either change his user name or sign up under another name. It's been done before.

Dave

Thanks for the kind words Alan_B.

Good idea lifter4him.

Would the moderator please check into this?

Blademan_007 has an e-mail address of Blademan_007@yahoo.com.

Although I suppose it wouldn't prevent him from creating a new e-mail alias.

Out.

Ya know, fair and honest fall far short of describing GPB. On my very first deal he went far above and beyond what you would expect to get even after the 20th deal. In subsequent transactions, he showed even more the type of person that he is, passing on to me some hellish deals, and amazing me with his generosity.

It is too bad that the putz in question does not now, not will he probably ever understand why people won't say similar things about him.

I hate that GPB got the short end.

Blademan_007 will get his in the end. I hope I can contribute to it too.....

Mike

I have to agree with those who warned about "BladeScammer_007" resurfacing with another username. I, for one, am not likely to ship anything to 306 E. 800 South, Springville, Utah 84663, regardless of who the recipient says he is. The knife community is small. But perhaps there is another member nearby who can tell us if that address is really a house. If the guy is a habitual scammer, he eventually WILL move, probably when he's evicted.

GPB, I am sorry to hear this tale (and appreciative that you shared it with as many as possible). The overwhelming majority of the knife community, like the overwhelming majority of the gun community, is decent and honorable. I hope this hasn't soured your outlook too much. We're good guys, you're a good guy.

And, as the Romans said (even though Khan claimed it was the Klingons), "Revenge is a dish best served cold."
