Fair play to you for stepping out, but that guy is well known for this sort of
stuff as well as other undesirable goings on I'm sure you know about already.

Also does J.N. even have a work shop or are all those knives just imported from Pakistan ?

I just can't be doing with it, people constantly accusing me of being corrupt or dodgy. I suppose I am guilty by association and I just can't handle that. Tim will do what he does and that is up to him but I do not want any part in it.

That I do not know. After being banned on BB for making comments on BCL about what was said in their EMCCU sub-forum about another member, I was asked to Moderate on a new UK knife forum. I was happy to do that, no ego trip or anything like that but just to be a guy to help run another forum and we wanted to make it a decent place to be. Unfortunately, we just start getting it right and the next embarrassing episode is revealed which is just a punch in the gut.

Tims' issues are his own affair, I have never spoken to him other than on the forums and was willing to give him a second chance as I know how witch hunts can be stirred up on the internet. Unfortunately, he has proven them right so many times and I wish to distance myself from his reputation. I have no idea if his work is dodgy or not, if he has his own workshop or not or if he out sources his work or not.
 
Ah, yes.......Mr. Noble. There is a rather lively thread about him on British Blades. apparently, he has also been stealing sheath and field bag designs from a couple of the leather benders in the UK. From what I have seen, his damascus knives are outsourced to or directly bought from from India.

Taking inspiration from a design is one thing, but an outright copy is just disgraceful.

As a Brit, I hang my head in shame and offer apologies to you Andy, for my countryman's poor behaviour.

Wow, I went over to that forum and saw a bunch of guys acting like it was perfectly ok for knifemakers to steal designs. What a bunch of tools.

I typed a very nice reply, without any profanity (very hard to do after reading that nonsence) and they deleted it and banned me:(

Don't worry Andy, this jerk off will eventually run out names to use and the whole world will see him for the worthless POS he is.
 
Andy, I know it sucks to have your designs copied like that but you can also look at it like , "Wow my designs are so good that someone would just steal them". Them make sure he pays for stealing your designs!

A while back he was asking me questions about something and someone was kind enough to warn me about him being a crook. I can't remember what it was about though.
 
wellllllll. I got invited to the forum, haven't done anything with it, and now I'm pretty glad I haven't.


I expect to see a KG sheath knockoff soon. whther or not he does any of my designs....we'll see in a bit. Since I don't use patterns it's less likely.

Thing is, I would explain exactly how I get the details of my curves and proportions and "look" to someone who asked (I have, in fact.) and make no bones about it- though it'd be cool to be referenced, yknow. ASKING, would be the key point.
 
yknow, thinking about it, he may not copy Sierra's work. That much double seam and individual to EACH knife pattern making and waterforming might not fly for that type of operation.

I sometimes find myself getting up and going into another room to do/get something...and I just stand there, because I can't remember what it was... :confused:

Getting old sucks...CRS don't help any either... :(
 
Dang Andy thats tuff man, this jerk will get whats coming to him! Its so obvious also, you have your own style, completely different than what others do. Did this guy buy one from you and make copies?

No. He just copied the design from pics.

I got an apology this morning, and an assurance that the knives are not going to go into production.
