Warranty Replacements....again

You know...the funniest thing about this is...How in hell would one even know what the hell to do...where to send the "phantom" knife without going to the site and reading the instructions...Right? I mean, I think you guys are somewhere in Alabama...somewhere...Right? But unless I went to the site, got the form and the address to send it, I'd be clueless...right? So to get even an address you'd have to just blow past the form...right?

Or you'd just fucking lie...right?
Well there is an address on the survival tips business cards they send out with the knives, I don't know if that's where you send broken knives or not though.

Not defending this guy or anything, just sayin...

Sounds like someone trying to get a free knife to me, not cool.:thumbdn:

If the guy actually sent a knife back broken from not using it correctly, did some idiotic modification, etc.... I'd just send it back with some tape or super glue and say "Fix it yourself". But this would mean said user would have to know how to use tape or glue..... :D

A knife is a cutting/hunting/survival/cooking tool, common sense....

We have had so many brand new members of bladeforums here in the last few weeks or so i wouldntbe suprised if he is watching this right now.

Everyone has to start somewhere but ive never seen so many 10-30 posts/gold membership guys so fast. either some peopel here have a few alter egos :D orits just that time of year.

I learned this lesson a while back.....you offer you hands and they want your whole arm. It's rather unfortunate that we have people in society that always think of outsmarting the good intention of others. Maybe warranties should be modified if this gets out of hand.

Intentional damage should not be covered i.e. dumb ass using grinder to cut Izula in half.
Damages caused by regular, emergency or survival use = no question asked.
I am sure there will be telltale signs if a knife has been intentionally damaged.

The mob is looking for blood, this guy needs to show up here so the public whooping can start, Jeff and Mike you guys are what really sold me on Esee and all the great folks here. yeah the warranty is nice but if i do something that stupid to break one of your knives i dont think i should be playing with them anymore :D.

Mike, Jeff,

Seriously, I'm at a loss here.... all your warranty troubles obviously speaks to your company's dysfunction and inability in handling warranty repairs properly. And on top of that, undermining your customers' credibility by posting here before they could do ANYTHING... and sending a mob after them.... How do you expect them to be able to come out and tell their sides??

Well, I'm not afraid of the internet mob, and I'll speak out! Just look at my situation here... I bought a Laser Strike II a few months ago with a big gouge/divot ALREADY in the handle, and a bunch of dings and chips along where my thumb goes on the top of the blade...

I sent it in for a replacement with paperwork (BEFORE I EVEN GOT TO USE IT!), but haven't heard back from ANYONE.....

When will I get MY Laser Strike II back!?!??!

:p

I dont know about anyone else but for as little as it costs in the long run I ship everything with insurance, tracking and delivery confirmation. That way I know exactly where my stuff is and who has it. Sound like a case of wanting to play but not wanting to pay.

"booby prizes" would be cool, if they were cost effective. like you send an obviously abused knife in, you get your replacement AND a shirt that says "i'm voting age and still don't know how to properly use a knife" kind of an updated version of the "Dunce Cap" :)

I like......

As a 10-30 post gold membership guy, I'm gonna go with that time of year. I have more time during the holidays to jibber jabber, after January I only have time to peruse....

+1 for booby prizes.

Seriously, you guys should do something to discourage the few abusing the warranty. Maybe use a strike system in which you log people who keep sending you blatantly abused knives and stop taking warranty service for them after X-number of strikes?

I don't know about prizes, but you should seriously get some contact info from these idiots and distribute that info to dealers and issue an embargo against them with the details of "too stupid for sharp objects".

This reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Bart ends up in the slow class and the teacher says: "Now children take out your safety scissors and a circle of paper"

As far as warranty goes all I can say is I dropped them an email on a Sunday about one of the screws coming off my Junglas and getting lost. Mike got back to me in 10 minutes stating he would have a new set out first thing monday.....best customer service yet.

Check out this dandy. Wanted to try out the ESEE Warranty since the knife was defective when HE batonned it through a nail in an oak pallet.

ETA, the above was sarcasm, this was NOT me! I need a sarcasm font. I have changed "I" to "HE" for clarity. :D I need a drink....

You should get a Sharpmaker setup with diamond rods or a DMT Diafold w/ guide set, they don't cost much and if you are into knives you def. need good sharpening tools. Interesting to see it can be batoned through old nails, though.

Yep on his youtube comments he said he didn’t have a sharpening system so he couldn’t fix it. ESEE was kind enough to recommend a sharpening place he could send it to though. I’ll admit, that would sharpen out, he should spend his Xbox game money on a sharpening system. At least he’s in the garage working on skills instead of watching a Lost marathon and eating Oreos.
