I just want to say that guys....you have some beautiful Washington Jacks - I really love the Autumn Bone and the deep Red Bone - and the Golden Bone-Autumn is it?
The polsihed Stag and Enony should be side by side - two handsome Materials!

Enjoy your new blade xICEMANx. I'm sure you'll love more than me! I hope you put up a video on it.

Start discussing and picturing the knives guys. This discussion has drifted way off topic.

I believe that any knife with Washington bolsters is a thing of beauty.

They should, I would if it were me making them. Look pretty easy to make with no shield etch and a pattern they're use to making now.

The Washington Jacks are an SFO that Charlie commissioned to GEC. With that said, ask Charlie.

If I recall, Charlie never recommissions the same knife twice. Don't quote me on that though. He has done multiple runs of TC Barlows, but each run has had differences in cover styles, blade configurations, etc.

I finally got to handle a Cocobolo Washington!
Admittedly, I was worried about how it would look, because it has a lot of "furniture" (fancy bolsters and shield) which looks good with the more solid colored handles. But I like it! It is more old fashioned or something - - - -anyway it's definitely pleasing in Cocobolo I think.

Agreed!

Perhaps counterintuitive (counteraestethical?) given the finesse of this pattern's "furniture," but for this knife I wanted a more variable, rugged-ish cover-- especially after glimpsing this image early on:

Mind you, I wavered mightily as the other cover materials were revealed in all their finished glory; there's not a lesser choice in the lot. I would have been happy with any of them (understatement), but am thrilled with the cocobolo knife that arrived yesterday afternoon:

It's hard to capture in pictures, but in addition to the wood's fire and color, its grain is textured. "Distressed," even, which is exactly what I was hoping for, without being able to put it into words ahead of time.

You've done it again, Charlie (and Bill & Co.), and how.

Thank you so much for your many kindnesses to me, and for bringing forth this knife.

Nice pictures of it, Sarah! I am glad it fills the bill for you!!

Sarah , I'm an Ebony first then Cocobolo second kinda guy but that Cocobolo is a choice changer right there. That is a beauty:thumbup:

Wow, Sarah, that is a gorgeous one! I don't normally go in much for wood handled knives, but that one would make me waver a bit!

Thanks, everyone.

Here's the knife in more everday, at-a-glance, non-posed lighting:

More subdued, but still compelling. :)

Sarah, fantastic figure in that cocobolo. I love the striations in the wood, but how's the chatoyancy? :D;)

Congrats on procuring such a fine knife!
