I am more interested in it being used as a bottle opener than fast deploying the blade (which I see as a useless feature as I see no reason to open a knife in such a hurry).

I ordered one today. I would also have liked a steel upgrade, although I would have preferred a flat grind myself. Still, I look at it as a steel upgrade over the VG-10 that until this point was the only steel that Spyderco was making Emerson wave knives with. The G10... likewise, although if I want it badly enough, there are any number of aftermarket options, at least.

Looking at the pictures by Wasatch11253 I actually like this grind than FFG, at least visually. I might pick one up as well.

Bought 2. I also bought 2 Flytanium scale and a bunch of lynch clips for them.
Watched a YouTube review(keithkevinken) about this and he mentioned that the waved version is 0.5oz heavier than the normal version. Since all of the extra weight is gonna be on the blade, this version is well suited for the Flytanium scales and should give it a better balance.
I care less for the wave and more for the saber ground blade. With the more robust tip and beefier blade, this might be the best hard use PM2(until PM2 tanto comes).
