PVD is the process, not the coating. 'PVD coating' isn't a thing, though a variety of coatings may be applied via PVD.
Saw someone on IG say that the 617 could give the "Spyderco PM2 a run for the money" - pretty lofty statement. Your thoughts?
I've had my 612F, 613C, 614A and 615C for a couple of weeks now (and a 617E should land on my doorstep today) so it's perhaps a good thing I've decided to take somewhat of a breather and make the plunge on two of their titanium pens, a green and a purple. Given how this brand has yet failed to disappoint me, I'm looking forward to maintaining that happy streak.
By the way, my 615C blue Cirrus has a slightly softer detent break relative to all other WE folders that have crossed my path thus far. I can't say whether this is common to the model or not, just that I've used this particular knife to introduce other people to the brand and to manual flippers in general. The softer detent is actually easier for someone new to flippers to deploy and gives a satisfying "snick" without a lot of conscious effort on their part.
The somewhat "lighter than it appears" weight of the Cirrus has also not been lost on most that I've handed it to, and truth be told, the Cirrus has displaced my 608H as my present "work knife."
Hopefully, I won't be guilty of enabling someone else's addiction.
ALL business!!^
Judging from pictures and descriptions alone, I think I just found a great alternative to a longtime grail I've been lusting for, a Shirogorov 111. Every time I attempted to buy one, my wallet constricted.
615C blue Cirrus seems to be my Shiro cure.
Guess I'll have to wait some unknown time for dealers to get a few into stock.
Vdk just released vids and pics of the new persion called the Pharaoh. Similar to the pioneer, but unique. Check it out on his Instagram. Made by we knives.
