We, the People, hereby request......

because theres a TON of folders out there in that category...do you have a BK2? no offense, im just saying if you did, youd see why we want this BK2folder:thumbup:

exactly. There is a bazillion trillion quadtrillion folders with skinnay arse blades. We want a big blade folder.

my dream folder is a massive 1/2" frame (each side) with a 1/4" spine blade in the middle, a 1/2" pivot, 1/4" frame bolts to hold it all together.

i'm tired of wimpy little blades, even my ZT0200 feels too light and wimpy to me.

A quarter inch thick blade? On a folder? No, it will be only 3/16 of an inch when it's finished, and have a partial distal taper. I just haven't done a grind on it yet (you're still looking at the basic slab in the pictures). I'm figuring a blade length of around 3 7/8 inches for this guy, although nothing is set in stone, yet.

Those dimensions sound right. Beefy enough for hard work (by folder standards) without being obnoxious.

and i do like the 3 7/8" blade length, that would make it just under 4" and completely legal to carry ED in Iowa. dont quote me, but i do believe thats the limit. ive always stuck by it not to compromise my CCW with a weapons charge. sometimes the laws are muddy around here and vary from county to county

I grew up (i use that phrase loosely) knowing, and i mean KNOWING, that having a folding knife over 3" in length here in Michigan was illegal. Ha! Amazing what we THINK we know.
How's this for an oddballer:

If no unlawful intent, no crime. Any length, folder or fixed.

my only fear is how things can be twisted to make it seem as if you were "looking for trouble"....i honestly fear carrying hollow point ammo, but id sooner put someone down and be the only one with a story to tell. family comes first, and i want all the odds in my favor. sorry, i got off on one of my rants again.:D

BTW, wtf is "unlawful intent"? protecting yourself/loved ones or robbing the 7/11?

i know some great cops, but they are there to take names and chalk bodies. after the fact. protect your own. didn't mean to tangent the topic.

back to the knife, i really would like to see one of these. 4" blade minimum, i'd realy like to see it closer to 5" (sorry dawsonbob). i think the 1/2" pivot securely attached to the liners with a good solid lock-up just might do the trick. truly a folding Campanion. with a nice cordura sheath. capable of chopping, battoning, whatever.

i know there are many other concerns, but physically, is it doable???
Paul? Ethan?

Oh, it would be doable. What I've done could be enlarged or reduced. It would be up to Ethan and Toooj to decide whether it would be marketable or not.

it seems as though that some want x blade length, while others want another length...this could be a whole line in itself

I like it.. but I'd love a folding BK10..

Well, ya just never know, Jake, ya just never know.:D

It wouldn't be all that hard to do a BK-10 folder now that I have the handles and liners (the BK-10 uses the same handles as the BK-2: only the blade would need to change).
