Week-end Post, What Are You Doing

It barely cracked freezing today, so not much got done in the shop. I ran a new 240V circuit for the HT oven. It is going down to 23 tonight ( again) and won't get above freezing tomorrow. After church tomorrow, I may try and do a HT run of stainless if it isn't to bitter . Man, I can't wait to get the new shop built this spring. I can put up with heat, but this cold really sucks. My slack tub has been frozen solid for over a week straight......Could be worse, I could be in Moose Jaw with Kelly.

I have been in the shop working on knives and come inside to warm up about every hour. Its a nice change from the 100 degree temps but still is pretty darn chilly.

Somehow the phrase... "it could be worse, I could be in Moose Jaw, Canada" needs no explanation. No offense Kelley.... well a little offense Kelley :p

It's in the low-mid 30s, working with hand tools has it's benefits especially when you're standing under halogens :)

The Lightinin' Brothers Band rocked The Hour Bar last night.

We celebrated Wa..Wa..Wally's Birthday in grand style :D. As predicted, IG was dancing with most of the pretty women at the bar.

Wil, I guess it was about a quart of Jose before Wa..Wa..Wally was using a table as a blanket .

Got home about 2:30 AM, I'll just be hanging with Linda today, a movie, a late lunch and after that we'll be chillin' at the house.

It's not nearly as cold as -5oF, it's a balmy 12oF, whew am I sweating :D.

No pic no proof!

Sounds like the ole man had a good time. I can't wait to hear his version of the night :D

It's in the mid 30s, they cancelled school Friday (yes they cancelled school) remember we have A/C not so much on the heating side of stuff down here.

I just remember till around 10:30PM and a Happy B'day Tune from BBBBB Beaver's Band. I also lost count on how many times, I fell down when I was dancing. HEHEHEHE!!!!

I'll be heading out to Indian George's to forge a knife or two.

Wa..Wa..Wally need anything from the portagee bakery today?

Hopefully finishing a knife up, wife called me at work last night to inform me that she's having a yard sale in the morning.. ummmm I got home from work around 630 and she's still asleep. Don't think she's having a yard sale today.

Last night I went to dinner at Ruth's Chris with my wife Judy, my best friend John, and his wife Aileen. John's Birthday is Jan 10 and mine is the 22nd, so we often celebrate together. Dinner was on us. Steaks were beyond belief (good), and the place was really nice. Prices are high, but it was a special celebration. We had a blast talking about the good old days when he was an entertainer, and about current law cases ( he is now a powerful defense attorney), and making plans for the St. Patrick's Day parade (we have a float in it every year).
After dinner we went to the bar for a celebratory drink, John ordered two glasses with double shots of Louis xiii, since it was our birthdays. Far and away the best cognac, but ridiculously priced. The gals ordered Irish Coffee. When the bar bill came, John pointed out that they forgot the Irish coffees. The bartender said that if we had two doubles of Louis xiii, he could throw in two Irish coffees for free. The bar tab for the two drinks was slightly higher than the dinner tab.

Great night with great friends.

Making 3 or 4 special hot cutting tools tomorrow which are going to be used on my first bar of feather pattern damascus. Working on the bottom roller for my rolling mill and cleaning the shop.

Burns Nicht Supper tonight.

The neeps an' tatties are all done, the haggis is cooking, the Prince Charlie is hanging on the doorknob, and everything is ready to go. Due to the change in date, caused by last weeks snow storm, there will only be 65 attending. I'll post photos tomorrow.
