Well...It's Friday...

I haven't used a barong. They seem somewhat similar. The barong looks like it's slimmer and more pointy. The 12" fiddleback has more belly, a feature I look for in a machete. Andy's machetes are comprised of 1075 and have been referred to as "the best machete in the world". Needless to say, I'm excited about getting my meat hooks on one.

Duder,

Does Andy keep machetes in stock? I have a buddy that loves my Camp Knife and wants a big Fiddleback, but does not want to spend that much $$$.

I PMed Bamboo. He said they have a couple in stock.

I have to say, Bamboo's a champ. As soon as he visited the BFs site he responded to my PM. He was also very informative and willing to accommodate my requests. Thanks Bamboo:thumbup::thumbup:

Damn! Blue, blue, and more blue, and I'm going to be in a meeting for the next two hours. At least it will save my wallet some heart ache. That could be 3 or 4 purchases today easy...

Eh, the Friday posts have come after 4pm before :)

Did you guys see the Kephart and Karda at the top? Woohoo, my first Fiddlebacks!

Big thanks to Mistwalker for the Kephart review a few months back. I knew the moment I saw yours that I needed to have one of my own. As for the matching Karda? Well, I can't explain that. :D

The Karda is a HUGELY versatile design... small, light, rocker shaped guardless edge for kitchen use... super fun knife! Good Snag!!!

Well, tomorrow I go into the darkness. Work up North for several weeks, and hopefully then I get to go back home and get time in the woods. Happy Fiddleback Friday to you all and congratulations to everyone who scored some shinies. See you guys in a bit of time. :o

That's awesome, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy mine. Oh, and no need to thank me man, I was just showing off one of my favorite knives ever :)

Good morning guys and girls, here we are again. unfortunately for me, I am in the middle of dealing with the harshest winter I have experienced since the one that nearly cost me my life in 1983 and having drug my family to the frozen north am obligated to keep them alive and well. So...my finances are somewhat strained to say the least. I have a particular model that has gotten into my head lately, and if it popped up in today's thread, it would be as terrible for me as it would be wonderful...if not more so. The ensuing dilemma of do it/don't do it might just drive me insane and test my willpower more than it needs to be tested :D So...I am going to go do the wise thing, the equivalent of a cold shower, and head back into the woods in near knee deep snow and work for a while, then play with a Fiddleback I already have :) You sharks have fun ;) I'll check out the post later.

Misty; the white stuff is your friend. Keeps you warm, keeps the darkness at bay and makes travelling fast and fun.

Going up in the mountains next week. Will bring the emberlit and a few Fiddlebacks. Hoping for a meter or two of snow:D

That may be the coolest shot of that model that I've ever seen. The pins seem to kind of glow in the micarta scale.

Never get tired of your pics Mist. :)

Congrats to all that grabbed an amazing knife today! I gotta say, I get more impressed (and enamored) with FF knives every Friday. I feel like the new big paw knife was made with me in mind. :D

Seriously, that's a sick design. I'm so torn between the Sneaky and anything else though. I really want a Sneaky (of some sort) to be my next Fiddleback, but I also love the idea of an F2, but also the Recluse. I like the big paw, but now I have a Kephart so I'm not sure about that one...

So many choices...

Thanks man, I thought it was a cool shot. As for the choices...I feel your pain man, I feel your pain :) I wanted a guardless Woodchuck, but now I'm torn between that and a guardless Big Paw, man I love the blade profile on that one. Then I also want a Bushfinger, Thurin has me wanting a Bushcrafter, I am ever and always on the hunt for two specific Hiking Buddys...too many choices, not enough money :)

I have missed out on the last couple Fridays (pesky work) … just as well, no knife fundage, but haven't even been able to hang out here in the "green room" with the regular crew, and it's made me realize that's half the fun … !

Great pics Mist!

Yep, isn't that the truth! And thanks man!

Heya Edge. Good to see you man! Missed ya around here. I hope life slows down a bit for you and you get a chance to chill here a bit.

Thanks guys … yeah, I'm hoping to get to hang out too … if course, then I live in the fear that the perfect Fiddleback creation will show up … ;)
