So....today I decided to go on a walk on some trails I frequent as well as others. I had my esee junglas on my side and low and behold uppon my arival back to my car I realized I didn't have it on my side because my belt apparently snapped! What a kick in the teeth right so I back tracked to find some young kids walking on the trail. I walked back over 2 miles and gave up! My suspicion is that potentially the kids found it and wanderd off. Or its still somewhere out there either way I lost my favorite knife and that's a horrible feeling!!! I know now not to buy cheap walmart leather belts fml! I now know how the other members feel that lost quality blades.

That sucks, man, that Junglas weighs a lot. What do you think you were doing when it came off of your belt? That thing weighs enough and would swing enough to where you think that you would notice....

I say get back out there and look again. Other members have lost their knives and returned with metal detectors and 1095 sniffing dogs. Two miles of how many you hiked? Do it again and at loeast your mind can rest better if you do or don't find it. Good luck.

man, a lot of people have been losing their knives in the woods lately. hope yours turns up.

Sounds like he lost the sheath and all. The Junglas comes with one of the best factory sheaths in the business.

Losing an Izula = suck. Losing a Junglas…..ouch.

I see the belt broke now. So I'll say, bummer. Buy another one. Use good belts. (see what I did there)

Wow, hey. That's got to suck. Personally, I know I'd notice pretty much right away if my belt snapped, never mind the change in weight from something that big falling off. And then I'd be doing everything I could to find it!

I honestly didn't want to ask the kids if they found it bc if they hadn't they would probably go back and look for it for them selves.

I was wearing alot of layers considering the temperature here in upstate ny, between the weight of my pack and all I did not notice.

That sucks, man.

At least you didn't get injured. You can always buy a new Junglas but you can't un-break an arm or leg. A Junglas is cheaper, also.

i dont think i would have left the woods till i found it. $170 knife is not something id let go easily.

Bummer. Hope you find it.

All these lost knives got me thinking of making a backup retention line out of para-cord with a small clip to attach to a belt loop or molle webbing. Or putting a clip on the lanyard.

Might be a little more inconvenient but would save replacement costs.

That's crappy news. I have never had good luck with backtracking on a trail and finding what i've lost. Give it another go at least.

sounds like a great opportunity to put some kids to work to earn a $50 (or something) to split and you could save over a hundred. just a thought, but hindsight is always 20/20.

this is great to know. i was thinking that it would be a lot to just lose off of your body and not notice, but the fact that it's possible makes me think it's not too heavy to carry all day.

sorry you lost your junglas. i hope it turns up for you. i would hate to have the same happen to me. i really don't like the orange scales everyone raves about on these knives, but i guess this is a good reason for them.
