well today is officially the worst day i have had in a whyle!!!!

I know how you feel, I lost a RC6 recently and it bummed me out pretty bad, sorry to hear about the junglas......

That's wild I have carried my RTAK-2 for a 5.5 mile hike 2 weekends ago and that thing bounced around alot, and the weight is very noticable thats odd you did not feel it breakk.

Not that this was the case here, but dropping knives in the woods is the reason I can't understand why digital camo handles are so popular these days. At least when I drop a knife, I like to be able to see it.

If you are going to look for a good belt, check out Ares Gear. I bought their Ranger belt and it is absolutely awesome. I CCW every day and I dont have to make adjustments because the holster started sagging and what not.

I'm going to pick up the The Wilderness Original Instructor Belt soon....

Heard some good stuff about this belt

The worst of it all I hadn't even used the junglas yet ...it just cut some paper with it:( even worst off I can't afford to buy another due to the wife loosing her job.

Wow, hey. That's got to suck. Personally, I know I'd notice pretty much right away if my belt snapped, never mind the change in weight from something that big falling off. And then I'd be doing everything I could to find it!

Man, if my belt had snapped, I'd have lost mah pants.

True story.

Wow that sucks dude (both situations)! Made that story that much more difficult to read now that I know you only got to kill a few sheets of paper

Yeah same here.....they'd start falling off my butt especially if I was constantly walking around. That and the thing not constantly slapping against my leg anymore would alert me something was missing......I notice when the weight of my light cell phone isn't in my pocket, or a small pocket knife isn't dragging down one side of my pants.

Sorry to hear about the loss, that was the perfect opportunity to use it for the first time.....why didn't you break it out and cut up a walking stick or something? You might have been more aware of where it was if you were thinking of ways to use it.

Like someone else said though, hindsight is always 20/20.

Sorry to hear about your wife losing her job.....try saving away $30 or so every paycheck or every month and you'll have a Junglas again in no time.

That sucks.
I to would think you would notice a 10 inch blade not bouncing around on your leg.

This is the best belt I've ever worn. It's tough, never slips, buckle doubles as bottle opener and it's cheaper than the other ones I've paid for with the velcro and stupid emergency rappeling d-ring.

That really sucks, man. Could you ride a bike along the trail? It can't be that far off if you were walking on the normal path.

Is it snowy out there? That thing had to have made a huge indentation in the snow and if the sun can hit it it will melt all of the surrounding snow to make it easier to see, regardless of the temperature outside.....as long as it is sunny and not cloudy.

Try to get back out there, heck, bring a couple of buddies and buy a case of beer for the one who finds it. Definitely go back out there and try to find it if you can't buy another.....for $170 it's worth your time and effort.

So....today I decided to go on a walk on some trails I frequent as well as others. I had my esee junglas on my side and low and behold uppon my arival back to my car I realized I didn't have it on my side because my belt apparently snapped! What a kick in the teeth right so I back tracked to find some young kids walking on the trail. I walked back over 2 miles and gave up! My suspicion is that potentially the kids found it and wanderd off. Or its still somewhere out there either way I lost my favorite knife and that's a horrible feeling!!! I know now not to buy cheap walmart leather belts fml! I now know how the other members feel that lost quality blades.

Bummers dude! I'd put a notice near the trail had mentioning it and some way to contact you. Or talk to the ranger station or who ever is in charge of the area just in case it ends up in the lost and found. Worth a shot.

By the way, I buy belt blanks from Tandy Leather Factory and make the belt that I want. The first one lasted me 11 or 12 years. I've had this one since April or May 2009 and it's still going strong. Went with a 1-1/2" Wide one this time instead of the 1" that I bought last time. Holds my 1911-A1 nicely or a Fixed blade. Got my Esee-4 on right now and hardly notice it. The belt blanks and hardware will cost more then a lot of the walmart/discoutn belts, but they last a long time.
