well today is officially the worst day i have had in a whyle!!!!

So if your story is true, post up a picture of your broken belt.

You said you were " walking on a trail" and lost your junglas, you dont even know what part of the trail you lost it on! Dude, if your story is true, that sucks...but it sure sounds like BS to me.

Posting on this forum means that you are subject to everyones opinion..including mine...they are just opinions and only YOU know what really happened.

Show us a picture of the broken belt.

What the heck? Let it go, if you don't believe it then move on. Why make a post like this?

He doesnt have to post a picture of anything..He can dow hatever he pleases..Everyone is showing their sympathy, some are showing a neutral postition and i find it damn near un believeable...spend a little more time on this forum and you will understand. Him posting a picture of his broken belt would only gain him my apology and even more sympathy from everyone here so what does he have to lose..?

he doesn't have anything to lose. he already lost the knife. he also has no need to prove anything to you. you are just rubbing salt in an open wound for no reason. even if he was lying, you are the jerk here. oh, and spend a little more time on this forum and i'll understand what? that people lie about losing knives to not get free replacements? are you even reading what you are typing? are you really thinking this through?

Why do you even care that i dont believe him that his JUNGLAS fell from his broken belt and he didnt notice AT ALL and cant find it? Like i said before..everyone, including YOU and ME are entitled to our own opinions of the matter...Dont make this thread about YOUR problem with MY opinion.

i don't care what your opinion is at all. i believe i made that very clear when i said that you should just hit the back button and stop reading the thread if you don't believe him. we don't care what you think. yes, you are entitled to your opinion. you are even entitled to speak your mind when you disagree. all i asked is that you show some respect and use some discretion. if you don't believe him, then don't believe him. what does anyone gain by you being a jerk about it?

I'm sorry if ive offended anyone, i just want to see a picture...and if what the OP says happened really did, why wouldnt he post one anyway? IMO.

because he doesn't need to. who cares if he has a picture of a broken belt? that doesn't prove anything either. again i say, grow up.

Its no different than me starting a thread stating that i broke my ESEE 5. With no pics..who would believe such a statement without pictures...same goes with fishing trips " it was this big!!" right?

i have no reason to think you are lying if you say you broke a 5. why would you lie about it? you probably wouldn't. it's not impossible to break them. if you said you broke it, i'd suggest you send it in and get it replaced. if it was true, you would. if not, your thread would quickly get buried.

this situation isn't covered under the warranty and there is no reason to lie about it. a picture of a broken belt doesn't prove anything and even if i was the op and had a broken belt to take a pic of, i wouldn't. i wouldn't feel like i needed to prove anything to you or anyone else that agrees with you.

i'll say it one more time...

i honestly couldn't care less about your opinion. i don't care what you think about the situation. that's actually the point of my post. maybe try reading it again.

what i do care about is the fact that you are being a jerk. i care that people like you get on their computers and take out your anger at the world on people that haven't done anything wrong. i hate how anonymity has empowered you to be accusatory and confrontational for no reason because you know that you are safe in your chair. that is what i care about. i care that people like you are mean just to be mean.

i'm done here. i really don't care what you think about the op or myself and i have no interest in seeing where this goes. looks to me like it will just continue until someone is mature enough to end it. i just hope you realize that by acting the way you are, you are the one that looks bad here.

done. i wish there was a hand washing icon...

Jonesy, sorry for my un sympathetic posts. I am sorry you lost your knife, and aside from my own devices i have no reason to believe you are lieing.

Sorry you lost your knife man.

We've had somepretty crazy stories here lately, thats why i reacted the way i did..and as far as pictures go, in the ESEE forum we always LOVE pictures..broken knife, chipped edge etc.

I'm new to these forums so if I am out of line I apologize but I feel like I have to say this. It seems like since about 2 weeks ago when someone posted that they had lost their ESEE something someone has been losing an ESEE every other day. I dont know about you but I would surely notice the lack of a 16 inch 3lb piece of steel banging against my leg within one or two steps. I dont mean to target anyone in particular but it amazes me that people lose their ESEEs considering they have stellar sheaths, and are relatively heavy blades, for the most part. I went backpacking this last weekend and my ESEE-4 started leaning too far back and I noticed right away, I stopped and adjusted my blade and my pack - then carried on. I really wonder if people lose their firearms as often as they lose their blades, I mean my Sig P226 weighs about the same as a Junglas and I would sure as hell notice if it fell out of its thigh rig... I just hope people arent fabricating stories in hopes of getting freebies from Jeff and Mike, taking advantage of their kindness. Just my two cents, again, I apologize if I am out of line, but out of all the ESEEs lost, at least 1 has to be BS IMHO.

Edit:
Looks like some people posted saying the same thing and I missed it. So yea... I agree with those people. I apologize for the redundancy.

I think that is the heart of it. Jeff and Mike are great and people in the community are police-ing itself, trying to make sure that people aren't trying to pull one over on anyone. It is good that people here care so much about the forum, the ESEE line and the people involved with it but it can sometimes lead to situations like this.

I'm with you, I notice when I don't have an 8 oz cell phone in my pocket and can't imagine not noticing an Junglas and sheath bouncing on my leg or the weight shift and belt shift from it falling off.....my key ring weighs about 8 oz and pulls my pants down. I always notice when it isn't there.

With that said, he definitely could have lost it like he said.....it is just one of the more 'how the F did that happen' type of situations that raises some caution flags.

This is what I was trying to say when I made my initial post, but yet I got accused of slandering.

If he was running around in the mountains of Afghanistan with a full battle load on, I could see that he may not notice it when a junglas fell off his hip. It's just hard for me to believe, and I would say the same thing to any buddy of mine if he told the same story.

While the OP may not be looking for sympathy, although if he wasn't why post about it?, I do know that people will take advantage of others.

Of course, this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

this is where i unsubscribe from this thread. while i also think it is a little suspicious that so many people are making posts about losing their knives in the past couple of weeks, i don't think its my place or anyone else's to make public judgments on anyone.

i know everyone is just trying to look out for the ESEE community and make sure no one is getting one over, but jeff and mike are not stupid. i'm pretty sure they can sort through the BS and handle each incident accordingly as they see fit.

Best to order up a new one as soon as possible and chalk this one up as a loss and a tough lesson learned. I lost my favorite fixed blade due to a bad sheath keeper strap back in the 1970's. Staring at the empty sheath on my belt was a life lesson learned, and I have not lost another since then.

Get a good belt made, and keep your sheaths in good shape and be aware of where your knives are when carrying and or using and this will not happen again.

I just shared my story that's all, I wasn't looking for a free hand out at all had one been offered i would politely refuse! I agree they are awesome people, the part that bothers me is how quick people are to slander! Honestly when i think someones full of crap i tend to move on. But others tend to go out of their way to be a _____ and that's totally uncalled for, don't like it move on! Had the role been reversed I'm sure you wouldn't want others to pull this crap. Look into the facts dose this person have a history of this, whats their feedback look like! Just because you don't like the story or have a hard time understanding how this is possible doesn't mean you bash on the person. Collect some facts consider the person had a lot on their mind "the wife lost her job" could be a good one. If its hard for me to loose a 2lb knife then tell me how do people loose their pistols (state troopers) there are several that have left theirs in public bathrooms! Or how do hunters loose rifles and or hunting gear ____ happens people loose things and i lost my junglas get over it, it happened! When the sole purpose of your belt is to hold your new knife and that's all your wearing coveralls the first time you carry it aNd your exhausted _____ HAPPENS GET OVER IT AND MOVE THE _____ON YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT READ IT!!!!!!

Sorry for your loss, I lost a knife in the snow ( in the 70's) and know how frustrating it can be looking for it. I did lose mine after sliding down a mountainside and parts of that slide were impossable to go back to, I was really just glad I walked away and the knife lost was not a great one anyway. I would also recomend the Wilderness belts, I have two.

I was using my 6" Esee throwing knife the other day and I lost it in the snow. The worst part is that it was the 999th time I had thrown it and everything was fine until then. :D:D:D

Just messing. Sorry you lost your junglas, man!!!!!! That seriously puffs a fat donkey rail.
