I just prayed to have Him remove my urges to be a sick f***. I've always had impulse control problems when it comes to the profane and obscene.

Obviously it's not working as you felt is necessary to drop an F-bomb in Community.

Wake up and think before you post. :rolleyes:

CM,

I think you might find the words and thoughts of an old hymn helpful. I think it is called Accepted in the Beloved or Accepted Am I:

“In the Beloved” accepted am I,
Risen, ascended, and seated on high;
Saved from all sin thro’ His infinite grace,
With the redeemed ones accorded a place.

Refrain:

“In the Beloved,” God’s marvelous grace
Calls me to dwell in this wonderful place;
God sees my Savior, and then He sees me,
“In the Beloved,” accepted and free.

“In the Beloved”— how safe my retreat,
In the Beloved accounted complete;
“Who can condemn me?” In Him I am free,
Savior and Keeper forever is He.

Refrain

“In the Beloved” I went to the tree,
There, in His Person, by faith I may see
Infinite wrath rolling over His head,
Infinite grace, for He died in my stead.

Refrain

CM, you are no longer the name you called yourself. You are a child of the true and living God. Jesus paid the price, on the cross, for every sin you have committed in the past and every sin you will commit in the future. When God looks at you he sees his Sons' blood first. You are now a new creature in Christ. And every day, if you let him, he will change you little by little into who you should be, and who you will want to be.

Take care my firend. One day at a time.

I don't know what your style of music is but you might also try to find "East to West", I think by the NewsBoys. It's a good one.

I was just about to refer CM to that song as well. "East to West" is a great meaningful song. :) +1 brother!

Im sorry but this whole thread makes me want to puke..:barf:

Then quit whining and don't read it :rolleyes:

How do you do it, oh Bastion of Perfection? :rolleyes:

Seriously, just lay off. I am not quite sure why you feel the need to act like such a tough guy here on the 'net, but it's pretty pathetic. The guy is trying to change his life, which doesn't happen overnight, and you want to continually degrade him. Yea, he needs some work, but he's working on it. Sorry you're so offended by someone who has decided to have some principle in his life...

Rules are rules in Community. He can praise Jesus all he wants but when he breaks a rule and drops an f-bomb, regardless of the topic or context, I'm gonna' call him on it.

Word of advice.....do not interfere with me upholding the rules which have been in place long before you or CM got here.

religion, politics, and college football always seem to bring out strong emotions. ( LSU 6- Ga. 0 ) [3rd ]

Congratulations CM on your choice and for announcing it.
Might I suggest taking a little time and reading thru Romans after reading some of the posts here. Romans 7 & 8 if your short on time and want some quick understanding. It covers our struggle with sin and the outcome of our Faith in Christ. I read it often.
We are all sinners.

Quick read for you:

Romans 7
The Believer’s Relationship to the Law
7:4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you could be joined to another, to the one who was raised from the dead, to bear fruit to God. 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful desires, aroused by the law, were active in the members of our body to bear fruit for death. 7:6 But now we have been released from the law, because we have died to what controlled us, so that we may serve in the new life of the Spirit and not under the old written code.

7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! Certainly, I would not have known sin except through the law. For indeed I would not have known what it means to desire something belonging to someone else if the law had not said, “Do not covet.” 7:8 But sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of wrong desires. For apart from the law, sin is dead. 7:9 And I was once alive apart from the law, but with the coming of the commandment sin became alive 7:10 and I died. So I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life brought death! 7:11 For sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it I died. 7:12 So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good.

7:13 Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Absolutely not! But sin, so that it would be shown to be sin, produced death in me through what is good, so that through the commandment sin would become utterly sinful. 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual – but I am unspiritual, sold into slavery to sin. 7:15 For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I do not do what I want – instead, I do what I hate. 7:16 But if I do what I don’t want, I agree that the law is good. 7:17 But now it is no longer me doing it, but sin that lives in me. 7:18 For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For I want to do the good, but I cannot do it. 7:19 For I do not do the good I want, but I do the very evil I do not want! 7:20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer me doing it but sin that lives in me.

7:21 So, I find the law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me. 7:22 For I delight in the law of God in my inner being. 7:23 But I see a different law in my members waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that is in my members. 7:24 Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 7:25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

Urges will not be removed from you by God.
God is supposed to be a source of strength to OVERCOME the urges which will still exist.
It's a journey, not a magic cure-all.

Oh yea...stabman hit it here...:thumbup:

Never noticed this Ken C. before, but he does seem rather petty.

Maybe there is bad blood I'm unaware of though.

What are your talking about? Ken is the moderator of this forum and this is a family friendly part of BFC and using the "F" word is against the rules. Actually Ken was pretty nice ... He could have given him an infraction for that..

Edited to add that I think that all this Jesus talk should not be allowed. someone should lock this whole stupid thread...its totally vomitizing

This thread started out nice.
For those who have nothing positive to say to CM......they maybe should just refrain from posting. This wasn't started to debate spiritual beliefs.
Congrats CM :thumbup:
