went to my area knife store!

Google images brought me to this old thread. Nice pics man! My friend Droppoint1110 is in Cali on vacation now and is planning on stopping there, the place looks awesome! Even here in New York (NOT the city) only small gun shops have knives and they tend to be spyderco, CRKT, and kabar. No high end stuff at all. Plaza looks like they have some really nice stuff. It's a rare opportunity for New Yorkers to get to handle really high end stuff, and a lot of it, all in one place.

Plaza actually had a full renovation in March, tried getting a job there as a part timer but they tend to really stick with family and friends. Also to tease a little more (from before the ren.)

Fellow new Yorker! You guys can see the trend here... :D
There's Leatherman's, Kershaw, and BUCK.
And Gerbers, Gerbers everywhere!
Gun-Shops usually aren't too bad, but no Striders, CRK, or Spyderco's.
I go to a Trapping Convention every year, and the people there have lots of guns, traps, and hunting gear for sale everwhere. If I dig good enough, I can usually find something good. Still, no CRK or Striders. I DID manage to find a Tenacious though.
But yeah. To sum it up, I have to go online or to a different state for this stuff.

I love that place, their prices are actually comparable to online prices too which is the best part.

"Local knife shop?" Such a wondrous thing still exists in this world? Sadly there are none in my area, which forces me to do all my shopping online. You are one lucky man. If there was something like that near where I live I would make it my mission to eventually handle every single model in the shop.

monkey edge is in Mesa, AZ not too far from where I live but plan on visiting one day soon

I must admit to being jealous of that shop. I have yet to find one as diverse...mainly see knives in gun shops. How were the prices?

Oh yeah...love the selection at plaza cutlery. When you anchor a store in one of the highest grossing malls per square feet, price isn't that competitive. I come here to fondle before I purchase...in the forum and online though.

Too bad I never got a chance to check out the store when I lived in socal, it would have sure been a good place to size up the knives before going online to purchase.

They did host the first knife show that I've attended. For that I'm gratefully and I'll be attending this year if things line up correctly.

Ha! I just ordered a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and Bug from BladeHQ ... they're 40 minutes away from where I live!

looks like i need to move to cali. only knife store in nj sell crkt, low end china spydies and awl mart kershaws.

i wish the local shop had a selection this impressive :(

thank you for posting these awesome pics though

BladeHQ doesn't ship to New York at all.... Friggin' city laws are ruining the rest of the State's knife credit.
