went to my area knife store!

i dont know of any stores like this in arizona, my parents moved to irvine in december so one of these days when i go visit them ill have to check out this store, i'm not a big fan of ca though.

that is a ridiculous selection! even the few knife stores around here I've been too had nothing like that. Mostly low end, borderline knock off stuff, with the staple Spydies and BMs and stuff. and now they're all closed down.

hehehe. 5 minute drive from where I stay during the weekdays. Some stuff here is below MSRP but a lot of it is at MSRP or above. So do you research before coming! Good people though. they can get busy at times though.

Damn, am I glad I live in Ohio. One trip in that store & my 401 & both brokerage accounts would be a thing of the past. . . :)
Great shots gundude, how often do you get to "window shop" there ????
Be safe.

Depends where you live in AZ. There are always police supply/gun stores, travelling gun shows, the occassional military surplus may be worth checking out. I think Phoenix would be a much better palce t find a nice knife shop than most anywhere else in the state.

Actually, it's not . . . or at least not so far as I can tell. The knife shops that seem to have the biggest selections in the Southwest are both in California . . . Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa for production knives and Nordic Knives in Solvang for custom knives. Bonds House of Cutlery in Las Vegas also has an excellent reputation. But given the number of world-class knifemakers that hail from the State of Arizona, you'd think there would be a major knife shop in Phoenix. If there is, I can't find it. :(

Actually, I hate you for posting this. It makes me sad that there are no knife stores in Northern Virginia. lol. The best we got is an army surplus place with 1 or 2 counters. So jealous

 this is much nicer than any of the stores near me. the most high-end knife I've ever seen in a store around here is a Spyderco, and there weren't many.

so plaza has a knife show in october? can someone elaborate more on this. granted it's a few months away, but i'd definitely make the 40min drive, plus i have a friend in OC, so that helps :P

its a store called plaza cutlery. great place to go and talk to other knife knuts but the prices are at MSRP.

didn't mean to confuse, but i was referring to the October Show that was mentioned. Any info on that, if they'll be having it this year as well?

edit- are there any other knife shows here in SD? or general socal?

AFAIK- The show is in Oct

And this year it's in Garden Grove, and there's free parking according to Dan

We have a gun shop called Shooters that has a good selection of knives in North Florida.

I had a dream that I was in a Knife Supermarket. Strider, Chris Reeve, Rick Hinderer, Spyderco, Kershaw, Benchmade, SOG, Cold Steel, Boker and so many more knives.
Then I woke up:-(

Just think, you got to go knife shopping without spending any money.:D But then you realize you dont have that cool Chris Reeve's knife you thought you just bought.:grumpy:

the show is pretty fun. lots of custom makers. heck last year i met Chris Reeve! cool to say the least.

I heard it through the grapevine that Rick Hinderer will be there in person this year.

Quite a collection in there. Massive CRK IMHO. With internet sales its tough to keep knives vs guns. Once again mho. Thanks for the pix and best of luck to your local proprietor!!

I bought my first sebenza at Plaza. A large micarta sebbie. I only got to stay a little but those few minutes were heaven. Talk about a sensory overload. Definitley worth
the 45 minute drive. Ill be sure to make it to the next show. Will be my first knife
show ever :)
