Went To The Dark Side. . . . Drinkin' Bourbon!!!!!. . . And Lovin' It!!!!

Jerry, you've been on the Dark side before. I recall a thread from way back when you were extolling the virtues of Old Grand Dad.

After spending little resingirl's college fund on Busse blades :o , I cant afford the really good stuff anymore. So here's a shout out to value brands.

The house bourbon is now Evan Williams.

Ha! Years ago a bunch of buddies and I had a "Rotgut Taste Test" where everyone brought a pint of cheap bourbon and threw down. Stuff like Beam, Kentucky Tavern, Early Times, etc... Well, Old Grand Dad was the unanimous champion!!

Otoh, Black Velvet has to be among the worst I've ever tasted... :thumbdn::thumbdn:

(Eta: Mr. Williams wasn't at that party, out of the weight class. We only let the Beam in as a control, lol.)

I drank Evan Williams for years until I became an alcoholic, Now I only Drink Crown Royal or Brother Jack

Highly reccommend these two estate bottled bourbons. Both can be difficult to locate so grab it if you get a chance!

Got some Smooth Ambler Old Scout The Lion's Share 9 yr. bourbon opened tonight.

Delicious....

Sh*t, that stuff made me order a INFI WTF.

We did a highly controlled taste test of various bourbons at the shop with 28 different brands!

We wear lab coats when we drink...... You know, because we're scientists. . . . Or is it that we're scientists because we wear lab coats ?

Either way the test results were VERY unexpected!

Rebel Yell came in near the top of everyone's list!!!

There were over 20 hardcore scientists (drunk Busse shop folk) who participated in these tests!!!

That's a lot of lab coats!

I'll try to find the results and post them here.

It was VERY scientific.... Did I mention that we wear lab coats?:D

Jerry:D

While I've never tried Rebel Yell, I find that difficult to believe. I'll be interested in seeing the results, or even whatever bourbons were -um- tested by the scientists

You guys should have worn LAB COATS... It makes it more science-er. :p

Hope you find those results!! I laid the groundwork last night with my friends to revisit our own challenge.

An agreement was quickly reached that there's still a lot of very important work to be done... you know, for science! :)

Do any of you think this thread may be a hint to the next New chunk of INFI?
For example. ..Dark Side = Black Res-C......lab coats to protect = Black Crinkle.....? Just a thought. Just over 20 hardcore Scientists = A 13lade that is 13" and a handle just over 7"....WELL THAT'S A 13EAUTIFUL IDEA 13OSS! 13ring the 13asic 13!

Don't forget the lab coats son!

Without those, there really is no science!!!

Lets drink!

So post the list of the 28 bourbons. I'd like to see what rebel yell beat.

Definitely Bossman. I can see now that the proper attire is vital to raise the overall professionalism of the group and to keep everyone focused on the data. Hopefully if a few show up in bath robes, rain ponchos, or coveralls we'll still get the desired effect. That, and we need to make sure we actually record our entrants and observations, lol.

 on the Angel's Envy Lakedawg. It's my wife's bouron of choice at the moment (she's a keeper :))

I'm enjoying a bit of Widow Jane, right now.
I suppose Rebel Yell could mean a BM-e is forthcoming; but that's probably a stretch. (I'll have myself believing it after another glass or two, though)
Lab coats, though...and 28?

Jerry, I just have to say how disappointed I am, that you didn't invite the gen-u-ine scientists here; Old Physics and me. (no offense to others, just don't know you)

and we have Lab Coats!

LOL. I know, you would think he would have opened it up to some of you locals. I think the whole thing was fixed. The taste test consisted of one bottle of Rebel Yell and 27 bottles of monkey shoulder.

Hmmm - Rebel Yell lyrics mention the 711...but I already have one of those.
I'd sell my soul for you...guess I'm back to the BMe - likely satin INFI. (But I'm not sure about this soul selling stuff. Heck, I wouldn't even sell my dog)

Or, off on another track - Bourbon. What's the biggest name in bourbon? Beam. BMe, again.

(Rebel Yell has got to be a clue - I simply can't believe that it came out near the top in any taste test.)

That's what I'm talking about!!!

Nice!!!

I'm inspired by you Guy!!!
