Thanks Dave as you know too well there are so many combinations that can be done with border stamps, making this slip sheath tonight for one of my folders and tried using that same stamp alternating the position to get a river, a little funky near the top but it’s mine ;)

Still needs glued, sewn and trimmed yet

Edited to add Ready for top coat tomorrow

and compared to the single line of the stamp;

Thanks and you can widen it on larger projects by spacing them further apart

What color dye (if any) was used on your leather? I really like that color.

I used Fiebings Saddle Tan but the evenness of the color I owe to applying it using an airbrush system, pretty inexpensive unit from Amazon.
You need to wear a good face mask as the atomizer effects of the spray isn’t good to breathe in and then you need to thoroughly clean the system when done
But it coats so well and the leather dries very quickly too

Some very nice work here from a bunch of guys!!!!

Duramax what leather is that?

Sharp and Fiery, You haven't had any trouble with inlay separating at the throat?

Dave, so far I have not had any issues with the inlays separating at the throat. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I could always just continue the stitching up past there if necessary. I have had an ostrich inlay on my hip for a few months now with no issues.
I do wet form them so maybe that helps?

I also scuff up the inlay pretty good where it runs under the border at the throat before I glue it up.

Also, duramax duramax I have the same question as Dave…what leather is that? Haha. Looks awesome and your work as well.

Good deal. I sew across on my overlay sheaths or holsters, prior to construction. I'll have to admit though, I've forgotten a couple of times and its not been a problem. They look good.

Back door of the shop. Mostly in shade all the time so the light is pretty good most of the time:

An antelope hide tossed over the top and a twisted mane hair mecate for contrast and focus:

Pretty much it. No lights and no reflectors. Just shade. Gotta watch out that the roofline don't show up on reflective things like bolsters.

Seriously? How ya getting that brownich color? Very uniform. Or maybe the light for the pics? Very nice work
In post #2304 that has an antique gel applied then conditioned in with Skidmores , then buffed in with their bees wax.

In post #2310
I used 100% neatsfoot oil when leather was hot, just a very light coat. Then conditioned immediately with skidmores. Then buffed in their bees wax. I’ll take some more pics of these today in daylight.
