Thank you !! Very much appreciatedGreat work!!![]()
Hmmm is that a newer gen Camaro hood ?I'm finally going to get into Kydex. My leather stash is about at it's end. I still have some but I want to try plastic. Plus, leather prices ain't helping.
Ordered a 8" x 12", .080", sheet in orange. Carbon fiber pattern. The foam and some black Chicago screws. I'll make a press out some 2x12" board and hinges when the foam shows up. Never seen the foam in real life. It better not be that foam the military uses for a sleep bag pad. Because I have a bunch of that. I'm sure it's different.
Some of my earlier work,
Leather crafters hand at making the Benchmade Kydex sheaths work,
It's time to go full plastic.
What they don't say about this stuff. It stinks like molten hot plastic. I have to air the house out before she gets home.
Waiting on the cool down. The sheets were heated to around 160Β°F for 10-15 minutes. Then brought up to 313Β°F. Stuck in the press with the knife positioned in between. Two layers of masking tape on the knife. I'll give it 20-25 minutes cool down. Plus I got a better camera.

Shoot me a pm for tips.
It's done besides the belt clip. There's a drain hole on the side that faces the leg. I needed the mouth to flex open but not go wild. So I added a longer Chicago screw with rubber washers on both sides. The screw will limit the spread but the rubber washers will allow some give.
I'll work on the belt clip tomorrow.

did up this lil guy. Not super happy with it, but it works. I wish I didn't groove those lines in. Embellishment isn't my strong suit

I like the lines, Lorien. Itβs what really drew me into that sheath.I do those lines myself sometimes. Adds a little character.
This is definitely NOT a sheath I would beat myself up over. Looks fantastic.![]()
