Whacha Been Up To......

Thanks Dave, long way to learn, this bag was one of couple ideas which I will work on,but with sewing machine is fun part that I can make so much new stuff at one day, and I hope make some money along the way. I played with slip sheats today, tried to make fast and cheap, and this came to my mind, hope you like it

Yes indeed, I do like them. Slip sheaths are very popular here, particularly for traditional folder users.

Toughest thing for me is remembering to check the dang order form to see if its roughout or smoothout. Can't tell ya how many times I've cut out the wrong one and then realize it later.

A few recents from around here:

Set of kitchen knives and a cheese slicer for my sister in law.

I think it had been a couple of years since I'd done any kitchen knives. These were handled from a board of Snokeling Rosewood that we believe my father sent home from India at the end of WW2. My brother found it in my parents old barn a couple of years ago.

Nichole has been very busy with purses. This Tote is from a black water buffalo:

And lined with a red denim:

Then she made up this carved purse which sold right away and she has four more orders for one similar from people that were too slow on the trigger when we posted this one.

Kinda a funny lil story on this one. The folks that bought it were friends of ours that moved to TN some six years ago. We'd only had contact a couple of times since then but they messaged us right away and snagged this purse. The next person that called on it and did place the first order for one were other friends of ours that moved to a different part of TN five years ago. Fact we bought their tractor when they left. Thats a coinkydink!

Those bags will last about forever, very nice

First fixed blade sheath; I happy with and proud of it even though I made some mistakes, such as gluing the belt loop before dyeing. I also discovered that, because of the belt loop, it is nigh on impossible to get my stitching chisels to go through strait. I punched the stitching holes in the front first, prior to glueing, but I still couldn’t get them to go through straight, as evidenced by the very uneven stitch line on the back. I’ve considered chiseling a groove into a cutting board to fit the belt loop while punching the holes. Would this work, or does anyone have any better ideas?

She really likes this canvas she found for a lining. She calls it Saddle Blanket:

She went back to the store and bought all of it.

Nice work for a first one. I don't handsew so I'm not the guy to answer your questions about sewing. Hopefully someone will be a long shortly that has more prctical experience doing that.

Holy cow my friend! Those are great!
