Finished this one...and then the customer asked for *gasp* kydex. Also finished the small edc sheath.

Josh, you have amazing skill in all things! It's crazy seeing how good your leatherwork has gotten in such a short period of time. Interesting patterns too ;)

Just some awesome work going on in these pages. Those of ya that have been around for a while know that this time of year we get busier that a one legged man at a butt kicking contest in a river neck deep with alligators. But we're paddling like big dogs anyhoo. So I haven't posted any of our work in a while here. so some recents:

A sheath for a type of knife I'm not sent often:

Well we all know how broken tips happen. I generally don’t even ask. But this one looked like it had two facets of broken.

I think there's something really special about your work. Not just the knives but the sheaths too. It's all very uniquely you and instantly recognizable among the masses... which isn't an easy thing to accomplish ;)

Pleased to see you so busy for xmas, you deserve it!

Thank you. It's important for a leather bender to develop their own style. I would say that you have accomplished that as have many on here that participate in this thread.

Beautiful work as always👍
Thank you sir!

Been busy with leather too:

Dave,
What leather are you using for your Dopp kits? I am having trouble finding one with a firm enough temper without being too thick or stiff.

Mostly misc oiltans from Maker’s or Maverick. The chrome tan water Buff from Weaver’s works well too. They have several different weights these days.

Thank you Dave.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
Randy
Ya bet Randy! Merry Christmas to you and all on here!

The Dopp kit (we call it a Travel Bag) and the Duffel Bag here are both made of the water buff:

I thought I would try a different design for a Dopp kit. This is based on a pattern from District Leather. I modified it some and added piping since the leather I picked was not quite firm enough to stand by itself. Not sure I want to make it again as it has some complications I am not too fond of but I think it came out ok.
