Off Topic What’s this knife/sheath sitting on?

Looks like a straight line leather cutting tool (whatever the technical term would be for that 🤣).

Let’s run for one more hour with this clue…it is a vintage tool that people now use as furniture. 🧐

So it’s a tool that is used as furniture, or a tool that is used to make vintage furniture? Man I’m probably going to smack myself in the head when it is revealed. 🤣

One last clue…oh weight…never mind. Answer coming shortly.

It’s not an old scale for weight and height is it?

Very very close!!!

I will award Mr. Murphy 56/2345th’s of a point for this guess! 😝😂🤣

Answer: An antique weight cart!
A lot of folks use them for coffee tables. You can see modern reiterations for sale currently. :)

This is a photo I got from the interwebs of the same one my knife is sitting on. Except the tray is red not black. :)

The measuring scale reminded me of the old scale my grandparents had. You had to add all the counterweights to it, and it had a retractable foldable measuring stick in it too.

A little more info:

The “tray” that my knife was sitting in is not actually a tray. It folds up and over the weight scale to protect it when you would be pulling it to market.

That is why it looks rough and dinged up. :)
