Off Topic What’s this knife/sheath sitting on?

OK my Brothers - try this one. 2 sides. As I pull out for a wider shot it should become more obvious but I'll start in a bit tight to tease...

Yeah this is a stumper for sure. Maybe unfair, as it is has a very specific purpose and not that common outside the community.

Don't get hung up on what you see, is my first clue. The opposite bit, not shown, is wood.

The knife is an early BogdanS BogdanS puukkoish knife called the FIREBUG. A long time favorite. 3-1/2" blade and just under 8" - for scale.

No horses pull. You might say "horses" push, with its help. 🤔
The remaining section is not much bigger so not a big rig.

So something to do with a tractor maybe? Hmmm…any farmers here?

It’s driving me nuts! I know I’ve seen this before, Ray….but where? and when? and what? Hmmm.

Having a bit of trouble on this one because I keep staring at that beautiful knife.

Feed control lever from a steam powered lumber mill saw.

Hey brough brough - should I post a photo of the mystery item without the knife? ;)

Each post has presented a clue. I've been selecting my words carefully.

More info. It hangs and is otherwise inert.

Cry UNCLE when you are ready. I'll post the GAW photos (without the knife) 😇.

Naaaa,
I will just keep letting it roll around in the brain and see what else comes out.

Is it Rail Road related?
