What 3 knives would you get first after losing your whole knife collection?

Folders:
1. Victorinox Farmer
2. Case Baby Butterbean or Case Peanut
3. Vintage Schrade Walden or Ulster small or medium stockman.

Fixed Blades:
1. A 4" drop point hunter in ATS34
2. Mora No.1
3. Ahti Tikka

Bet I could get all 6 for $200-$250 max if I didn't go custom on the drop point hunter.

Skyline, Blur, and since I've only had my blem 0350 for a couple of days, another one of those. Good Lor, if Dave gets any faster at sending knives out, we'll get 'em the day before we know we want 'em!

Great question and thread! But I will answer assuming I cant buy knives #4-20 right away after.

- Benchmade 710. Love this thing.
- Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite...green color. Best knife to use in front of non knife people.
- Emerson Super Karambit or Fox Knives Karambit. I carry a karambit 24/7. Love the blade shape and collect these the most.

EDC: (On me all the time)
-Spyderco Native FRN
-SAK Electrician
-Spartan Akribis or CRK Sebenza 25

COLLECTION:
-Hinderer 3.5 Spanto CF with Bronzed Ti, Spacers, and silver screws
-Curtiss F3 3.5 Ti scale
-Any non-field grade Bodega
(Not that I own any of these.....but if I HAVE to start over.......)

Sog Aegis (personal reasons)
Lg Sebenza 25 or 21
Shirogorov Mod 95T (idealy in M390 like my current one)

Paramilitary 2 - cts-204p
John Arnold custom front flipper
Steve Dunn slip-joint…

…and a Fallkniven in a pear tree...

3) ESEE 4

4)Since it might take some time to get my hands on one, a pm2 in any configuration other than digi, but this would be the one I started looking for first.

This has to be one of the more important basic question even after buying many knifes. It takes you back to basics and what you actually use. Three is enough to certainly make me feel comfortable. I responded earlier, but this is a great thread topic.

It's interesting that folks are often not choosing the most expensive knives and folders predominate the first couple purchases.

Victorinox Classic
Mora 511

I decided to read through this entire thread before answering and was surprised to find that I had replied 6 months ago. It was interesting because before I started reading the replies I thought that I would choose a carbon steel Case XX 3318 and a Buck 110, the two knives that I started out with as a boy, and a Victorinox Classic. As I was reading but before I got to my first post I started thinking that a Mora might really be a better choice for me than the 110.
So my choices today are basically the same as they were 6 months ago. A Case 3318 is a medium round boulstered Stockman as is the Calf Roper and the Mora and Classic remain unchanged.
Could it be that after all these years and all the money spent on knives I am finally learning what works for me and am satisfied? Amazing!

Jim
