What are the LEAST FAVORITE Knives You Own?

I've got a Kershaw Vapor (Ken Onion?) that I don't really like - I don't have a good reason for not liking it - I just don't. I also don't get rid of any of my knives... so it just sits. Oh well!

No one mentioned the legendary VTech brand. I bought a VTech Talon Karambit which looks cool as balls, but literally started falling apart right out of the box. I flicked it open several times and the handle screws popped out permanetly.

The factory QC is non-existent. The supposedly G-10 grips were sharp and frayed and all of the frame screw have started popping out. VTech spent more on the box and rubber box insert than they did on the knife. $19 gone forever.

My Victorinox Farmer with the ring attachment ground off. It's a little thick for my tastes, and I'd prefer the blade to be in the middle instead of the side. Still a great knife, but my least favorite.

A lot of people might find this hard to believe, but one of my most unliked knives would have to be my Spyderco Bob Lum folding tanto.i bought it very cheap in new condition but i can't see why they continually sell on the bay for close to $200.00.not that i would sell it,but it is highly overrated in my book.

My M-16 Has Been Used Hard And Has Held Up Very Well.the Knife I Hated Most Was A Chinese Copy Of A Cold Steel Voyger Bought It From A Crooked Web Site.it Was A Total Piece Of S~~t.so Much For Free Trade.

Someone mentioned Gerber as a name brand... IMHO, Gerber and Puma should no longer be considered "name brands." The knives they currently make are an absolute disgrace compared to the top quality cutlery they produced back in the 60's, 70's & early 80's.

I own a few that I'm not crazy about but my least favorite knife, by far, is the CRKT KISS. I fell for the cool new design and bought one several years ago. It's turned out to be such a dangerous POS that I won't even give it away. (gashed the hell out of my fingers when the lock gave way.)

Honorable mention POS goes to the Puma 4 Star folder. Extremely lousy fit and finish, the green bone scales were unevenly died, and the blade steel absolutely sucks.

I actually love Target. (Great bargains). I saw the knife that you're talking about. I've seen other knives with built-in lights. All of those were El-Cheapos. It's good to hear that Eddie Bauer wouldn't put their name on a piece of junk..... But your knife is still 7 times better than what I found at Pep-Boys.:D

I love target. I was there with my 15 year old brother looking for a leatherman (I heard they were having a sale), and he saw a hatchet. He picked it up and started joking around with it. Facing away from the price, he asked me in jest if he could have it. It was 7$. He now has a hatchet and no reason to ever use it. Ever. Why does he have a hatchet? because it was 7$. How can you not buy something for 7$ when it's 50$ across the street at home depot?

anyway, no clue if it sucks or not because it has never and will never be tested.

smith & wesson s.w.a.t.... i think this was my first knife i bought as a kid at a gun and knife show. i was fascinated with the "flick open" and big blade. I was proud as could be of that fine knife for several years :P... then as my obsession for knives grew, I began to loose all respect and interest in the thing haha

I have a love-hate with Gerber Paraframe 2s. I bought my 1st one a Wal-fart, on sale for 9.97. It was 9.97, how bad could it be? I have a million or so knives I never use, why not another? The problem was, I liked it....It fits my hand well, and with a little tweaking opens as fast as an auto. The problem with it is: It's a piece of crap! edge retention is horrible at best, the lock gets "soft" quick, and don't get me started on the "coating" (if you can call it that) that they put on the new version.

With all that said, I still keep buying them, My BM940 is always in my right pocket, and one of my POS Paraframe 2's is in my left.

If Gerber would just make this knife in a quality version, I would buy it in a heartbeat!

I wonder if the CRKT M16 are not a hit and miss item ? I know the blade steel is not the best but in all fairness my M16 is one of my favorite knives as of late , mind you I did do some modding and perfecting of the existing hardware , such as bending the LAWKS so that it is harder to engage or disengage , also adjusted the lockbar , now the lockup is quite solid , added some PB washers , zero blade play , even re-worked the handle to add grippage.
One should not have to (as a rule) do this to every knife they buy though , so I can see where some folks are bummed.

I cannot believe how many of you bought those KISS knives , I own several CRKT's but those apeared junky from the start , ditto on the Paraframe , I asked to see one at Walmart and promptly gave it back to the guy depsite him assuring me it is a "good knife"

The Rollock is garbage , I have held one , this time at Big 5 , and it was junk , blade play , not sharp , etc.... I would be embarrassed to work for CRKT and try to market that crappy Rollock.

Hatchets are 15$ at Home Depot :)

My least favorite knives are my Fallkniven U2 & Buck/Mayo TNT. I am NOT saying that they are bad knives in any way, they are just my least favorite knives.

I once had a CS Tanto, black coated. Bought it because it looked good but I found it to be unpractical for just about anything.

Worst knife I ever had was a dog that had a handle that felt like a damp snake...must have been made out of moisture-retaining rubber! As soon as you picked it up, you wanted to drop it! It looked good as a shot on a website but was a big disappointment. You also had to pull the blade out; it didn't seem to like fresh air!

The least favorite knife I've owned are Swiss Army knives. They tend to lose bits and pieces over time, the accessories bend, flop around and eventually the main knife will unlock and cut me. At some point I walked into a Salvation Army store purchased 10 of them at 10 cents each, you might expect I still have one of em at hand but they all seem to have lost themselves. If it won't lock I'm not going to carry it.

Sitting in front of me are 2 knives that have been usefull for over 20 years, Schrade 152 Old Timer [fixed knife] and an Ontario-Knife Company 'tru edge' "Old Hickory"

CRKT m16-14T. It's a love hate kinda thing. The blade sucks. I have no issues with the locks though. I put a very very rough edge on it and stuck it in my turnnout gear. It opens fast and cuts through most anything I need it to, I just have to make sure I sharpen it after every fire.

+1 for the para frame. They must look awfull pretty for so many of us to buy them.

I also picked up a S&W with the "urban camo" on it for about 10 bucks at a flea market. I like the older/better sw's with a good liniar lock but this one has the handle liniar lock. It feels very solid but I dont' like it for some reason.

Biggest disappointment: Microtech Socom elite. Spring broke or something. It's being fixed right now.

I bought a Smith and Wesson Texas Ranger 180th anniversary folding lock-back knife & badge, in a nice tin from Big 5 for $35.00. I never intended to use it. However I took it out of the tin, where it was laying partially open and locked the blade open and the liner lock fell out. What a POS. Never Buy S&W knives again no mater what the price.

See for yourself, don't make the same mistake.

My SOG Jungle Primitive. What a worthless POS. I've seen cheap Pakistani kukris that were better.

I had a brain fart. When I thought further about it, I realized the the SOG Fusion series is cheap anyway, so I should have expected poor quality. My biggest disappointment was more recent. I bought a Tom Brown Tracker from TOPS. This is just a big heavy dull cross between and axe and a knife. MY Ranger RD-6 will out chop it, at half the price.

I love my ryan, Heavy knives require heavy use only. The blade lock and weight are evidence enough you should be cutting through to bone with every slice.
