What are the 'must have' SAKs?

The Alox Cadet is my favorite and I consider it a must have. Small, thin, and light, but has the most-used tools (for me, anyway). And the Alox looks classier than the plastic handles, IMO.

With SAKs, in general, I favor the smaller 2-layer models (3.25") with fewer tools, such as the small Tinker and Tourist. If I think I'll need more tools, I'll carry a Leatherman or Victorinox Spirit Multitool.

For me, it's got to be the Huntsman...

The I happen to have my Vic Classic with me today, with my classic GMT Master II (sorry for the sub-par iPhone photos):

Yes, I tend to coordinate my knives, watches, and pens...it's a sickness.....:D:p:D:p

I don't EDC this, but this Wenger SAK (a collaboration with Swiss watch tool maker Bergeon) called the Micro Tool Chest is a favorite...but costs $150.00. :(

Finally, my collection of Rolex logo SAKS - must have for any Rolex fan :

Alox Soldier is THE Swiss Army Knife. Following that for me are the Spartan, Tinker, Climber (my 1st knife) and Farmer. Also a Classic should be on everyones keys.

That looks exactly like a fieldmaster, except it has a corkscrew instead of a Phillips driver.

You really get more use from a corkscrew than a Phillips head?

I do. Corkscrew is great on naughty knots and the little screwdriver at the end of the can opener does Phillips too.

As a bonus, I got this new at SMKW pretty cheap ($25) two or three trips ago. Thought about the fieldmaster but ... naaaaah. :D

A "must have" SAK is one of the no-longer-made 108mm knives like the Safari Trooper. They have all the function you need in a woods knife, and are much easier to carry that the bigger models such as the OHT.

Huntsman,Climber,Classic,Alox farmer, and Alox Soldier.I like most any Vic SAKs,but those are my favs.

CrimsonTideShooter, what's nice about the corkscrew, besides opening wine bottles,is they make a tiny standard screwdriver that screws into the corkscrew. That little screwdriver is handy for tightening screws on reading glasses. That is almost a deal maker for me.

For me, the Swisschamp, the Outrider, and the Soldier (old version). The Swisschamp stays in my backpack just in case, the soldier is a good EDC, and the Outrider is a mix of the two in locking blade form.

for me as well.........Alox Soldier is THE Swiss Army Knife. Cadet follows closely.

Man.... they get sharp. The Swiss have the heat treatment in their consistency.

Well my advice is... get the SwissChamp (cause you´ll have to!), then get the Climber for the best ever edc. Then buy a classic Soldier or Farmer (Alox). You won´t need any other SAK! This post will save you lot´s of money!

A "must-have" SAK would be the SwissChamp , light enough for belt carry while on work or EDC. It's very handy with its numerous tools.
