I also just watched "Judgment in Nuremberg" (1961) again for the 1st time in many years.
A Stanley Kramer directed movie starring, Spencer Tracy, Maximillian Shell, Burt Lancaster, Montomery Cliff, Marlena Dietrich, & Judy Garland.
It isn't about the trial of Nazi war criminals themselves but is about the trial 4 of judges who supported the system that led to the deaths of millions, made 16 yrs after the end of WWII in Europe with the perspective of time that that provided.
The monologues of Tracy and Lancaster are particularly moving.
Of note is that fact that these trials took place long after the end of the war and that political pressure was being put on the American judges in charge of the tribunal to let the German judges go w/a slap on the wrist because of the need for the cooperation of the Germans in reconstruction.
The decision to sentence the judges to life in prison for their crimes was unpopular and, according to the announcement at the end of the movie, all of the judges were released not long after the trial.
