What are you watching & why? (splain)

Watched a freaky recent episode of "Black Mirror" the other night, with Salma Hayek. Still trying to get that out of my head...

I have a luv-hate see-saw relationship with Netflix and cancel it every 2-3 months before coming back to binge watch their stronger line ups. This time I may renew just because of Black Mirror which is one of my Netflix faves but I may go the super cheap way at $6.99 with supported ads. I have opted for supported ads on other streaming platforms just to save a few pennies at the expense of being a bit annoyed by those ads but they are not that bad yet!

Just started a Korean series on Netflix called bloodhounds

This is the description

"Two young boxers band together with a benevolent moneylender to take down a ruthless loan shark who preys on the financially desperate"

I'll see if it's worth watching
I watched the trailer, but there's something about the Korean men looking too pretty. 😁

I mentioned that to my wife when she was watching some Korean period drama on Netflix. All the male actors had so much makeup on that their face was as smooth as glass. I can't vouch for the historical accuracy...

"I resent the insinuation. I come by my good looks naturally."

Welp, after having eagerly awaited the latest season (5?) of Black Mirror and having just watched all of the episodes, I was left greatly disappointed. Not as brilliant, cutting edge and avant-garde as some of the earlier seasons. Time for Netflix to put a fork in this one if this is typical of what Black Mirror's show runner come up with after such a looong hiatus. Blurttt...

Oh highlights? Salma Hayek can't fit in any jumpsuits!

Not Safe For Men:

Faaarrrk! Everyone was so much younger on that clip which Blues posted, specially the albino constrictor boa (python?)!
I think it might be a lemon python. I handled one once to get over the fear of snakes. It was fun...once. I'm not a snake guy.

ETA: I see on google it's an albino Burmese python

I really liked the AhNold documentary on Netflix and can't wait for the Sly one to debut on Netflix soon. As much as I disliked crap on Netflix (no where as terrible as Prime Video though!) these documentaries are worth the admission. I actually also liked the one on Pamela Anderson a few months back.

Anyhoo, I was going to make a comment in the Rando Thread but I feared that it may turn into a Poly-Dick-All back and fro so I make it in here since this thread is less populated. One thing which Arnold had mentioned about immigrants not getting way too deep into the nitty gritty of the American political system and the battle of the two see-sawing parties is absolutely spot on! As a none native who took the Oath almost 23 years ago right after 9/11 this statement resonated so truly with me. Before that the whole Iraq War I, Clinton Impeachment trial and everything in between is just a hazy memory to me! I wasn't partaking and I LOVED it. Immigrants by and large love this country which adopted them (us) and try to do right by her and to pay back. Sometimes, we can't believe that y'all do her like this! :P

Matt, some of the most patriotic people I have met in my many decades were not born in the USA. That's part of what makes this country great, imho.
I hope we can regain some of that luster.

And that's all I'm gonna say about that...except for that I hope everyone enjoys and appreciates "Independence Day".
