What are you watching & why? (splain)

Redbox'ed Fast X last night.

While the Fast N Furious franchise has been OK for mindless popcorn action, they've progressively gotten more and more outlandish, as they try to one-up all the previous movies.

About the only positive thing I can say about the latest installment is; props to them for being able to keep a franchise going for over 2 decades. I don't doubt that it's been getting a lot of people paid for all those years.

As far as the movie itself, not recommended.

Blues, you may like this one because of your own connection to busting up bad guys in your past profession, if you can stomach the subtitles, the thick Indian accents and dialects: The Hunt for Veerappan on Netflix. TBT, I had never heard of this Tamil brigand and "jungle bandit king" till a few days ago when I came across the docu series on Netflix. Ever since then, I did some further digging and the reviews are mixed because the hardcore followers, as always, claim deliberate omissions, etc...

Anyway, common theme as with any other person in human history who develops Robin Hood mythos: murderous, ruthless, bloodthirsty beast in human form. Not for the faint of heart, some gory images of dead peep shot and blown up.

I'll check on it next time I renew Netflix. The Colombians had several such folk heroes. (The Mexicans a few of their own.) Come to think of it, there are some neighborhoods in NYC I lived in that had similar.

Regardless of venue, I despise the vile bastards.

Wife and I just watched Rosemary's Baby for the very first time. I dunno, I guess I can see how "crazy" it would have seemed back in the 60s, but damn, all that and you don't get to see the baby at the end? WTF?!?!?

A little fantastical but worth the watch
It was its’ over the top and gratuitously violent scenes in the trailer that put it on my wanted to watch list.
I prefer my movies to be fantastical regardless of genre. I get plenty of boring in my every day life.

I almost lost a job once after calling my boss a “f#€$ing idiot” when he said, “Don’t bother seeing Air Force One (Harrison Ford movie out at the time), it’s totally unbelievable.”
I mean, they are movies.
They are literally made to entertain us.
