What are you watching & why? (splain)

I read that a year or two ago. It was a good story. I think I shortly thereafter read some other books by the author, as I recall
He’s a good writer. Kestrel is a pseudonym for novelist Jonathan Moore because he couldn’t find a publisher for that book for a very long time. Hard Case is a brave indie publisher that has published and reprinted some of the finest writers of crime fiction to ever type a sentence. Hard to go wrong picking up a book from their list.

Is there a book recommendation / discussion / whatchu reading thread on BF?

There is. I know I posted there recently. Search my recent posts, or look in Community Center...so we don't have to derail this thread too much.

I watched "Together" on Hulu & it was easily one of the strangest movies I have ever seen & I have seen A LOT of movies. The genre I guess would be "Body Horror".

Just watched "Bone Lake" a few hours ago. Great psychological thriller! Pretty sure it's on Netflix.

Both have a bit of a slow start, but wow do they get crazy!

Just watched Pedro Almodovar's "The Skin I Live In".

Not sure if I would categorize it as "body horror" but something in the same ballpark. Great watch.

I have so much love & respect for Kurt & his wife Goldie. Both of them are just great people & they haven't succumbed to the plastic surgery nightmare like most actors have. They are both beautiful people & are growing old gracefully, not to mention they are not stupid enough to spew their political beliefs like so many other prominent actors.

Just for clarification, two good descriptions of the "Body Horror" genre would be The Substance & Tusk.
Yours looks interesting. I may check it out, but a movie has to be damn good for me to watch it with subtitles. I made the exception for Martys & a few other French & Spanish movies. Antonio is a damn good actor.

Ugh.

Just watched ‘The Vault’ (heist movie from 2021).

Famke Janssen was in it. She succumbed to the ‘Billy the puppet’ plastic surgery trend, where Hollyweird actresses seem to think this look is attractive.
