On Patrol Live

Sickened by the news of two young sheriff deputies, both military veterans, killed in the line of duty by a POS that had a long rap sheet and was released on bail just 5 days prior to killing the young men.

My wife has us watching a couple of shows which, while somewhat entertaining, require some effort to look beyond the plot holes...

Lincoln Lawyer (series)

Memory of a Killer

(I read a couple of Lincoln Lawyer novels, since I enjoyed the Bosch series for the most part, but the actor isn't quite what I envisioned for the primary role.)

We're watching Memory of a Killer too. Not great, but passes the time.

I'm watching The Ninth Configuration (1980). It's William Peter Blatty's directorial debut. He wrote it too. So far I'm getting One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest vibes from it, only darker.

ETA: I thought this movie would be better. It's kind of hard to follow.

ETA2: Spotted a BUCK 119 at 1:47:19 in (for the sake of a knife forum post, if anything else) 😁

Speaking of Cuckoo's nest...Vincent Schiavelli grew up in my wife's neighborhood and went to school with her older brother and sister. (Now he lives in Italy if I remember correctly.) She said he was a bit of a loner back then, always hanging out on the park benches reading poetry and such.

Sad. My wife probably told me years ago, and I'd forgotten. Tony Danza, who's not dead, lived in the building next door to her on Lincoln Avenue.
Their windows faced each other across the courtyard behind the buildings.

He wasn't particularly well liked. A buddy of mine who used to box with him and was close, said he hit pretty hard, but not nearly as hard as Duran, who came up as a lightweight back in the day. He said he'd never been punched that hard by men much larger in the ring.

I remember hearing about his death, but I didn't realize it was so long ago. My most lasting memory of him was his performance in Ghost with Patrick Swayze. He played a lunatic very well.
