What are you watching & why? (splain)

Man On Fire, the original with Scott Glenn as Creasy. It's very very 80s tortured action film.
Funny story: Tony Scott (Ridley Scott's brother) was originally slated to direct that movie in 1987 but was passed over for lack of experience, even though he had just directed the highest grossing film of 1986 (Top Gun). He was vindicated 17 years later when he directed the much more successful 2004 adaption of Man on Fire, which is one of my favorite movies.

Watched "Nuremberg" last night on Netflix. It lacked the gravitas we were expecting despite some good acting performances, particularly from Russell Crowe.

While it wasn't a terrible portrayal of the events, I don't think I would give it much of a recommendation either.

Was out of town for a few days, so I try and watch movies that don't need the full home theater experience (I'm a snob).

Watched Pretty Lethal on Amazon Prime. It's the team that did Atomic Blonde and Bullet Train. It was a fun and silly action comedy. Also watched Heads of State, which was just OK

YES! That is the bane of so many shows these days, soap opera drama and unlikable characters. 🤮
These days? I remember when ‘Dallas’ was the big TV show everyone was talking about.

For whatever reason, (some) people seem to LOVE drama (look at all the reality TV shows. It’s the exceptionally BS drama filled ones that seem to draw the sheeple).

Accuracy and Taylor Sheridan will never meet in the same place.
Agreed. And yet I read frequent praise for Sheridan’s “depth of historical research.” SMH…
So you two are saying it’s not “accurate” to say that all cowgirls look like Lainey Wilson, and more “research” needs to be done?? 😁
