I don't find Sebenzas aesthetically appealing. They are extremely plain at best, and downright ugly or even tacky at worst.
I think tactical knives are silly.
I love slipjoints and balisongs.
I hate cocobolo.
I don't like serrations, and grudgingly accept them on steak and bread knives.
I don't trust the Axis lock. I don't like the omega springs, and it seems like every week someone has problems with them breaking.
I have a drawer full of Chinese/Pakistani junk knives.
I don't believe in liner locks.
My SAK and a good portion of my other knives are dull because I can't afford a good knife sharpener. Some of my other knives still have the factory edge because I don't use them enough to dull them. I have no idea what a properly sharp knife is like.
My most expensive knife was a used Typhoon kit balisong.
I let my father use a cheapo junk carbide sharpener to sharpen the kitchen knives. He has taken several millimeters of edge off of the knives he has tried to sharpen with it over the past few years. Some of them are starting to grow a recurve profile. Furthermore, he insists on muscling the sharpener as hard as he can, so many of the knives aren't any sharper than when he started. Furthermore, it puts an edge on the blade closer to a chisel grind than a v grind, so it's going to be even more work for me if I ever can afford a proper knife sharpener.
