What are your top 5 favorite all-around EDC knives?

Currently

1. Benchmade Saibu - fits in my preferred size of 3” with a lot of interesting detail and a great blade shape
2. ZT 640 - long, large blade but not too big in pocket. I also like the color a lot
3. UXT 70 - used around house, carry around for house choirs, the size doesn’t weight my cloths down, and it’s very useful
4. Victorinox Cadet (or any SAK) - 2nd carry everyday, mostly use for prying
5. Lionsteel Roundhead - when need to wear dress clothing for work

Have you tried a 3.5" Skinny? It might be a better slicer than the PM2, fairly light weight, and ergonomic perfection for me. The SWDLC Skinny was probably my most carried knife over the winter. Now with the 3.5" no choil Skinny Slicer and Skinny Sheepsfoot options, it's one of my favorite models. If this were a list of six knives, the 3" slicer no choil would be on there as well.

I really can not say that I have. I admit I am making a judgment call without ever trying the knife.

I have never really been a big fan of the XM series. I have to draw the line somewhere as to which brands and how many knives I will own. The XMs have never really done much for me so they have not really been under serious consideration. I am sure that if I ever tried one, I could and probably would enjoy it.

CRK - Small Sebenza - Impinda

Custom fixed blade Aikuchi by Bud Nealy
Custom JD Ellis Lanny’s Clip
Custom Drop Point folder by Ray Cover
Any of my Sebenzas
Sterile EK Model 5 Combat Bowie.

That’s today and most days but it does change regularly and based on my mood could change at any given moment.

I really only rotate between large Sebenza 21 and large Inkosi. Plain handle and micarta, drop point and insingo. Throw the Umnumzaan in there every now an again

Spyderco PM2 (my rotation has 4 variations)
Spyderco Manix 2 (my rotation has 3 of these)
Spyderco Military (2 of these)
Benchmade 913 Stryker
I don't currently have a 5th

My top 5 this year can easily be narrowed down to my top 3
Reate K2 (bronze)
Buck 501 (usually DLT green/s35vn)

I still switch out; but not as often... and usually because I realize I'm in danger of becoming "exclusive" with these.
I need to make a correction...
The three knives listed & pictured above are what I have been carrying most of the time; but I can't carry them at work. There, I need something lightweight for inconspicuous IWB carry. Generally, it's my Benchmade Anthem; but I recently purchased a Southern Grind Spider Monkey (carbon fiber, with green anodized liners) which has been working well in that capacity.

Work day
RMJ tactical UCAP fixed blade on the belt.
Sebenza 21 Insingo in pocket.
Benchmade Bailout or Bugout in lapel of polo shirt.

Off work
ZT 0223 or Benchmade crooked river in pocket.

TM Hunt Hedgehog
Medford Praetorian Genesis T
Sebenza 21 (Small plain Jane)
Spyderco Paramilitary 2
Lionsteel Kur

Spyderco Kapara
Benchmade 940-1 (but with S30V blade) ZT 0562 in g10 and S35VN
Spyderco Shaman
Benchmade Axis AFCK (806 in D2)

For total time in pocket, the AFCK easily wins, bought it in 2005 after becoming a cop and carried it exclusively for a very long time.

The 940 may be up for sale as the Kapara fills the same role but cuts and feels better.

The ZT is a recent addition so time will tell.
