What Books Are You Reading Right Now?

If you don't love it, we can't be friends.

And...

We don't rent pigs.

(Uva uvam vivendo varia fit)
I'm intimidated by the fact it's a million pages long. That said, some folks I respect suggest I give it a go. I also really enjoy reading about the time and place the story is set in. Should be good!

The Killing Season by Mason Cross

I had bought one of his books from my favorite local library, but when I got it home I realized that it was #2 in a series so I went back to the library and they searched the library network and found a copy of the first book and I asked them to have it sent to the local library for me. They are very attentive to the folks that frequent there, small comfortable library in Big Flats NY

I enjoy all the Michael Connely series, just finished the latest Lincoln Lawyer book. "Proving Ground" was a case of a young girl being murdered by a boy, was he put up to it by an AI Companion? Interesting premise, book held my attention. I've read all the series but haven't watched the movies.

Dave, I'm guessing you're posting from your phone? The images are huge and I'm having to reduce them in size to be able to fit more stuff on the screen. I've seen this before...not sure if you can bring the size down. I don't use my phone to post images.
Yes sir, I am posting from my phone. Not sure how to reduce but I can post from Flickr if that’s better?

No clue. I just reduced the size by editing your post. If you can, fine, if you can't, no worries.

Today being the 31st day of the month January, reading and studying the Book of Proverbs ~ Passage 31 ~ being that there are 31 days typically in the majority of the Calendar Months, it is a good way to go about reading Proverbs ~ a Proverb a day keeps Satan away ~ 🕯

The "Proverbial Woman," often referred to as the "Proverbs 31 woman," embodies the ideal characteristics of a virtuous woman as described in Proverbs 31:10-31 in the Bible.

Biblically
The Proverbs 31 woman is depicted as a woman of noble character, whose worth is described as being far above rubies. This passage outlines her various qualities, including:

Trustworthiness: Her husband has full confidence in her, and she brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

Industriousness: She works diligently, seeking wool and flax, and is involved in various economic activities, such as buying fields and planting vineyards.

Compassion: She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy, demonstrating kindness and generosity.

Strength and Dignity:
She is strong and dignified, managing her household effectively and preparing for the future.

Wisdom:
The passage emphasizes her wisdom and good judgment, making her a role model for women.

Significance The Proverbs 31 woman serves as a model for feminine virtue and is often cited in discussions about the ideal qualities of a wife and mother. Her characteristics reflect a balance of strength, compassion, and industriousness, making her an inspiring figure for many women today. The passage is not merely a checklist of traits to achieve but rather a holistic view of a woman who honors God and serves her family and community with love and dedication.

Becoming a Proverbs 31 woman is about living with purpose and integrity rather than striving for perfection. It encourages women to embody these virtues in their daily lives, focusing on personal growth, faithfulness, and service to others. This perspective allows for a more attainable and meaningful approach to the ideals presented in Proverbs 31.

A Virtuous Woman: A Proverbs 31 Ministry

In summary, the Proverbs 31 woman is a powerful symbol of virtue, strength, and wisdom, encouraging women to aspire to these qualities in their own lives while recognizing that the journey is about growth and character rather than perfection.

I read this at my mothers funeral and tied it into her life. I was just reading her obituary and hopped on here and found this.
