What Buck are you carrying today?

I know that town. been there before. got an old family friend up there in Westmoreland county. also been to Ligonier and latrobe, derry, greensburg, laughlintown, seven springs and a few other towns up that way.

when I have to head up that way, I try to stop in latrobe. i eat pizza in two places when i get up there. place called falbos and jioios. they got this weird crust almost like a pie crust. not quite but nothing quite like it anywhere else I've ever eaten pizza. I've traveled a lot and eaten a lot of pizza.. this is the most unique I've ever had and like it.. weirdly sweet tasting but not in a bad way.

we got a Pittsburgh'er (that the right term?) on the forum....sure he knows this area..
I’m going to be heading to Latrobe at some point soon to buy a bunch of C-clamps for cheap from a guy off Craigslist, I’ll be sure to check out at least one of those pizza places.

I live in Pittsburgh, but I’m not too familiar with PA in general. Grew up in Southern California, and moved here about five years ago after I graduated high school.

gotcha.

fair warning. some folks hate that pizza. I've been with folks who spit it out. falbos has a thick crust and a thin. I like the thin, its like jioios pie crust style. heard some rumor one family had the recipe let other family use it, and now both use it.. sure there was some drama on that tale but I dont remember which or what and such. I like it though......

Just received this hat from SMKW :)

I haven't been carrying much the last week or so but a few minutes ago decided I'm going to pick a fancy for 112 today..Enzo's TODAY I'm going to find me a big stick to give the Buck treatment to! I find it quite remarkable your tool of choice is a 124 and you can get such fine detail with such a big blade. I AM going to slip on one of Bucks cut resistant gloves on my left hand because I have to lolo!
The cut resistant gloves Buck has on the website for only $3.00 a pair is absolutely one of the top Buck bargains I have ever seen..

Nice! Enjoy! Whittling is a blast, especially with a Buck :)

In my experience, fine detail can be done easily with any blade you get familiar enough with, including larger ones. Personally I really prefer a blade with a large handle. It feels comfortable over longer periods of whittling. The 124 fits the bill nicely, in that regard.

I, too, wear cut resistant gloves on my left hand. I have a generic kitchen-oriented cut resistant glove with a beefy (but dextrous) extrication glove layered on top. Several years ago I had a bad accident while carving, and ever since I’ve used the cut resistant glove on my left hand. I only take it off while doing real fine detail work. When I get home I’ll take a photo of my glove setup to show.
