What Buck Do You Have on Order? Or in the Mail?

0101...That is the number of the Old Custom shop 112 I just won on the Bay!!! I tried to grab a pic but no luck. Complete with all paperwork burgundy shieth and big Old Custom shop box. Not cheep but in all the years I have been chasing 112's I have only seen 6 numbered knives offered for sale and bought one of them number 0136..Extremely well matched Stag, brass frame and mirror polished blade with Old English Buck Custom script tang stamp its one of 136 112's on the books. I will try and get a letter from Buck to see if it was ordered by a individual or perhaps a distributor. Ten years ago I would not have bought for the price I paid but as the years go by I find myself appreciating 112's like this one more . So many of the Old Custom shop knifes dissapeared into the black hole of long time collections as this one did since the early 90's and only come on the market when the collector dies..

Here you go, Clint. Nice grab, congratulations!

Thanks! Aside from being numbered it's got very well matched Stag and my favorite shieth. I sometimes wonder where are all the numbered Bucks are? Skyler might..

New exclusives just hit the website. I have my first 111 on its way. I needed to check out really quick so nothing else got stuck to my cart. There are some nice ones available.

Nice! I really like my 111. I picked up one several years back, except in 420HC . I was tempted to grab this one also.

I do have the 112 "murdured out" version BOTM due to arrive tomorrow. And tonight I placed an order for the Gen 5 in nickel silver (along with a 726 Mini Spitfire). So much for curbing my knife spending...

Missing 112 is found in Post Falls!!
When I ordered the Black BOTM I also added one of the build out 112 with the brown blade coating to the cart with one of the China fishing knifes. When it got delivered the buildout 112 was not in the box. Then it fell off the Web specials list.. But one call to Post Falls and it's now on the way!

Well..I'm waiting for another DEFINITELY rare odd 112!! On the weekend the 112 came out Chuck Buck himself set up at a hardware store in San Diego and offered to put you initials with a router in the micarta. And one finally showed up in the Bay! I've seen pictures of one and heard the story around 2015 and since then have took a close look at any V1-V1 I have seen listed in the faint hope one might show up. Chuck was such a great Gentleman and giant in the knife industry and to have a 112 from the first weekend it was for sale, touched by the Masters hand, it just don't get any better if you collect the 112..Screenshot_20221004-190657_eBay.jpg

You are right, congratulations! :thumbsup:

Got the itch again. Haven’t bought anything in a few weeks and was hoping to not buy anything for at least a few more. Then I caught sight of a few pen knives in this godforsaken place of enablement and made the mistake of looking around the retailers, when this 303 Cadet tapped me on the shoulder. All of my slippies are SAKs, so I figured what the hell. Love the wood grain, love the three distinctly different blade styles, love that it’s USA-made, and most of all, love that it’s a Buck. Out of stock everywhere, but KC says they usually ship in 7-10 days, by which time I’ll have probably forgotten that I ordered it. It does look nice in black, which is available now, but I’ve been wanting a wood grain knife for quite awhile and just hadn’t seen the right one til now.

Got a orange Spitfire on the way.

I was watching an episode of Life Below Zero and saw a outfitter using one to prepare his camp.

This happens to me more than I would like to admit. I see knives in pictures, videos, TV, movies, or even in person and want to try one out.

😅

Speaking of Spitfires, are these discontinued?

These are still available on the Buck site, including the orange version. I have a 726 Mini SpitFire and really like it. (It's actually in my pocket now.) Now you are getting me interested in the regular sized 722 SpitFire....

Thanks. Glad to hear you like your mini.

I am excited to try out the full size.
