Excellent choice! Very similar to mine, except for the blade. That's it on the upper left...I have a Buck 110 nickel bolsters ,finger groove, cherry with a 420 blade on order from the CS ----- Figured I needed one

How do you like the TRX? I ordered a 112 slim select in blaze orange last night. I've been resisting the different blade profiles of the slim series because I prefer the traditional design. I've also been reading a lot of positive comments about them lately, so I decided to give em a chance. After much back and forth, i ordered a 112 TRX. I know those thumbstuds are going to cause trouble with sharpening, but I'm hoping that's not the case.
I don't have a TRX, but I do have a 112 Slim Select. That thing is super light, and you hardly know it's clipped to your pocket. When I know I'm going to be working where the knife is going to get muddy or really dirty, and it's going to need hosed off at the end of the day, the 112 Slim Select or the 110 LT comes out.How do you like the TRX? I'd like to find one of those with that blade profile. As far as I know the new ones come with a straight clip.I don't have a TRX, but I do have a 112 Slim Select. Hmmm. I never noticed that until you mentioned it. I like mine more better-er too.I'd like to find one of those with that blade profile. As far as I know the new ones come with a straight clip.
I haven't actually used it. I was going to return it because it came with really uneven edge bevels (3rd out of the last 5 non-420HC Bucks Ive bought to come with awful edge bevels) and the thumbstuds stick out too far for me to try to fix the edge on the sharpening equipment I have. I think I would be more excited about it if the blade grind was better because the knife itself seems as if it would make a great EDC. Nice weight and materials. Would be cool if the thumb studs were removeable for sharpening as they are massive. How do you like the TRX? I ordered a 112 slim select in blaze orange last night. I'm sorry to hear that your blade wasn't up to snuff. I'm sure Buck would make it right for you, if you wanted to send it in. It might be too late to return it, but the warranty lasts forever. I ended up getting busy and never got around to returning it and I'm past the return window now. I may end up giving it as a Christmas gift as I don't want to deal with the uneven grind and future sharpening challenges with the thumb studs.
