What Buck Do You Have on Order? Or in the Mail?

Tonight I ordered a couple of knives for carry! They have been in my cart for a while. A 417 Budgie Black G10 (the 417 BOTM did not trip my trigger....) and a 112 Slim Pro TRX! (And I am still waiting on a 113 BCK that has been on order for almost a month.)

I ordered the 417 Budgie in the jade or natural G10. It is too small for me. If is very difficult for me to work it with one hand. I love the 112 Slim Pro TRX!

I'll bet some of you are prolly wondering why I'm going to all this trouble and spending more than the knife's worth. Sometimes I wonder the same thing. I just couldn't find what I wanted in a Buck 110. Nickle/silver, elk and a 5160 blade. Well Leroy said he had 2 out of 3 of my choices but no nickle/silver bolsters. He also said he could do a better job with the elk slabs. I used him once before and loved his work so I said yes. He's also going to put black paper (?) under the elk slabs. Time will tell. I trust him.

Leroy's work is awesome.
And you'll get a knife with zero issues.
I get it.
I can't wait to see it!

Yes it is! I have several of his and love them all!
Uncle Timbo Uncle Timbo look forward to seeing yours.
This the most recent from him...

Thanks you all. I guess it takes a knife fanatic to understand a knife fanatic.
I was born in southern WV and have loved and carried a knife of some kind as long as I can remember. I can't wait to work up a patina on this 5160.
I'll definitely post some pics. BTW, this is my reward for beating neck cancer, chemo and radiation.

Very good news!

Good to hear!
👍

Good to hear he got the donor knife! 🍻

I’m going to guess the black “paper” will be thin micarta liners glued to the elk slabs. Paper micarta is much more thinly woven material than a canvas micarta. This will help seal the area between the elk and the frame, but it will also stabilize the elk slabs so that movement and the possibility of gaps forming is much less likely since natural materials move and change based on environmental factors (heat and sweat from your hand factor in on a user knife). A little extra support never hurt! Plus the subtle accent the black liners provide will look great against the NS frame.

Thanks Jsega51! Leroy never explained the function other than they look good. I almost said no and now I'm glad I didn't.
BTW, at some time this year Leroy is moving to Oklahoma. I said, tornado alley? He said no, closer to Texas. I'm sure he'll still have contact info on Triple R Knives.

Awhile back I solicited some input and here is what I ordered yesterday for my buddies retirement. Based on the 6-8 weeks it should be here right about the time he walks out the door.

This is basically what mine will look like after I get it back from Leroy. Your buddy is lucky to have you as a friend. Good on you 315.

I knew I wasn’t too far behind you Uncle Timbo Uncle Timbo and I got a shipping notice last evening for the Custom Shop 112 I ordered.

For anyone else curious about the lead time, I ordered on 4-11, it shipped 5-25, so that’s pretty spot on at being completed within 6 weeks. Thank you Buck Knives 👍🏻

Add a third soon-to-be recipient. I have no longer than 4 more days until I can open my birthday present that has been sitting at home since 4-11. It's also a Custom Shop 112 but I won't know which handle material until I open the box. I'm hoping that my wife has a little mercy and let's me have it Saturday.

Great news! Where will you display a pic?

What day is your birthday? Mine is June 2nd. Maybe Leroy will ship mine in time for mine?
