What cheap knives do you think are a must have?

I'll second the mentions of Opinel and Mora. They're good knives and amazingly cheap. They make a good "floor"- as in, anything I consider buying has to be at *least* this good, or I'm better of just buying more Moras and Opinels.

Also everyone should have a Vic Classic on their keychain, and at least a Vic Tinker/Spartan/Pioneer in their pocket.

Spyderco Tenacious
Kershaw Skyline
Victorinox Farmer
ESEE Izula
Buck 110 or 112
Opinel (any, although I'm partial to the #7)
Mora (any, I have a #1 wood handle)
Mercator K55
Douk Douk
Okapi 907 (ring lock)
Japanese Hignokami knife (friction folder)
Case Sodbuster
Boker AK-74 auto
Camillus Electrician's knife, or TL-29 (maybe not required, but one of my personal favorites)

There are probably lots more, but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head that I have and feel are a great value.

Mora, mora and more mora (and Hultafors too!). :)
Then, after you have a bunch of Moras: Svord peasant knife, Opinel, Victorinox alox farmer, Japanese Higonokami.

Spyderco Military a cheap knife, seriously? Anyhow my all-time favorite cheap knife is the humble Case Sod Buster Jr in CV. Followed up a close second by the Victorinox Soldier.

Spyderco Cricket money clip knife. I use it every day for the last 6 years and never an issue with it. Not my favorite, but my most carried and very durable, dependable and comfortable.

kershaw skyline ( like $35)
russel green river knives
buck nobleman (especially if you like a flat grind)

Mora
Opinel
Ontario RAT-1

Gadget gets it.

I'd add on a sodbuster and a SAK, I'm partial to Queen's Country Cousin for a sodbuster, but there's nothing wrong with the other brands mentioned.

Five knives, all classics, all bases covered, and change from a $100 bill. It just don't get no better than that.
