What Did You Cut with Your Buck (Yesterday or Today)?

Now I know why my ears were burning! Hunting rabbits with friends is a lot of fun...but I always shoot better when I am alone. I think it is because I am less concerned about where my hunting partner is and can concentrate on just the rabbits. At any rate, that is my story and I am sticking to it!! Have any of you noticed the same thing when you hunt alone as opposed to hunting with others?

I only shoot paper. But I prefer it alone.

I shoot alone, yeah with nobody else
Yeah, you know when I shoot alone
I prefer to be by myself

Now, every morning just before breakfast
I don't want no coffee or tea
Just me and my good Buddy Wiser
And my Colt HBAR AR-15

'Cause I shoot alone, yeah with nobody else...

Ya know, I just recalled that I may have left my BuckTool at the range a few years ago :(

Hi Larry:),

I think that besides the fact of not having to be concerned about the whereabouts of others is the fact that you can get the optimum position/placement for yourself in relation to where you think the game is, and your choice of target.

I hunted ducks alone last week, between storms:p, got my limit in about three hours. Only once before in Colorado have I limited out on ducks:thumbup:.

The down side is it really wasn't as much fun as when your with people you like to be with. (We all carry and use Buck knives:D). Preston

I am such a city duck (change the first letter of the second word!).

Looked at that pic and my first thought was "man, those ducks are dumb".

Preston,

How long did it take to teach those duck's to play dead and how long before your dog's got bored and lost interest?????

John, Goose,

Them ducks may be dumb BUT they ain't playing dead:eek: ;).

The dogs never get bored with the ducks:D, Doc, the one in back, did all the retrieving. He would 'trieve all day long. Nell, the graying one, is a wonderful hunter/retriever but at twelve is sadly not able to do it any longer(hip and spine spurs).

To get this picture I had to yell and threaten with great bodily harm if they touched one of the ducks. I barely got the pic.

I got 'em on Thuraday last week, hung the ducks for a couple of days in the garage...Nell still is going on a hunt in the garage looking for ducks:D  :D. Breaks my heart that she's not able to be in the field with us.

Wish I could tell you that I used a Buck to take care of the ducks but I used a RH Forschner 407-6 boning knife...just could make myself use the Stag handled 121(thanks Larry O.), next time I'll try the vintage 118;):D;). Preston

Carnitas prep. The pork shoulder was semi-frozen. The 110BuffCote went through with one slice on each side (the length of the blade required a meat rotation...straight down once, flip to get the other side...one more slice...done).
All veggies were prepped later and all thrown into the crock with half  the beer.
