What Did You Cut with Your Buck (Yesterday or Today)?

I was sitting at the local watering hole the other day. The bartender had put up balloons on her working side of the bar. The one closest to me was annoying as hell. It was on a string hovering about 18" from the bar top and would drift in "my space" every now and then.

Easy work for the 889SBMF.

I popped it just as the bartender was bending over to grab me a Bud Lite. She jumped and screamed. The bar went quiet. She was PISSED!!! She yelled that it was "her" balloon and that I startled her. If she didn't know me and love me that she'd throw my butt out. Man, I got an ass chewing. I told her that the balloon was blocking my view of her butt everytime she bent down to get a beer. The place laughed, I got a free beer, and a hug ;)

So, that's what I cut with my 889SBMF...a balloon.

I cut up a old leather belt with my 110. I screwed the leather to a piece of wood and made a nice knife strop. Does the job a treat and polishes up the edge on my blades a treat. The 110 is about as sharp as it can be !!!

You asked, "What has been cut with a Buck Today,"
I'll bet one opened a letter, or cut the string on a bale of hay.
Or cut a sandwich in half, or castrated a calf.
They'll even cut a bolt in half, or at least, so they say.

I know they've gutted an elk; skinned a deer or bear,
and plucked a splinter from a finger with ease and care.
They've filleted a fish, cut most anything you wish,
They've even been used to cut some ribbon for a pretty girls hair.

They've been used to cut up some tatters, and slice some Spam.
Some of us remember C-Rats, Lima Beans and Ham.
They've whittled a toothpick or sharpened a hot dog stick,
And they've made a sandwich using peanut butter and jam.

You know they've been to Korea and to Vietnam,
And now they're in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Because you see, Freedom isn't exactly free
And we go where we're sent by our Uncle Sam.

God Bless our Men and Women who defend you and me,
An preserve our way of life and fight to keep us free.
May they use their Buck knife to defend and save a life,
And then see them come home, safe and sound, to their family.

So when you ask, what got cut with a Buck knife today?
The knife designed by Hoyt, Al, Chuck and CJ.
Just remember that they're being used and sometimes even abused,
But may your Buck always be used in just the right way!

Wow Jack, very cool and creative:thumbup: I used my new 355 Bucklite Tool that arrived yesterday, to cut open a box of prized 110s and 112s. I almost bought the new X-Tract, but couldn't pass on the 355 for $21 shipped.

We spell that "lumpia" at my house.

Okay . . . it's confession time. While I did use my BG-42-ized Buck 110 very early this morning to open a package of pizza rolls and a few other things, I also committed a serious sin. This afternoon, I used a Spyderco Endura to accomplish some similarly mundane household tasks.

I have no excuse. I just happened to have it with me and it just . . . happened.

I feel so dirty!

Eat 12 lumpia with some patis and leave a San Miguel at the altar as pennance and beg for forgiveness...

I used my 295 yesterday at a company pot luck dinner. Some one brought some cooked pork.....I need to cut some to bit sized chunks....without thinking I pulled out the old 295 activated the blade which snapped out as expected.....well some of the sheeples at the table almost feel over...while some others eyes began to bug out.....Oh well. The Buck knife cut the pork to bite sized chunks’ with surgical precision.

A spring roll. A spring roll is an egg roll sans meat.

What he said... I think :) I would describe it as a Vietnamese burrito.

I cut MYSELF with my buck 110 yesterday. Bled all over a report that I had to hand in. My teacher didn't seem to mind though.

I sliced open the mail with the Tempest (got to love that knife) and made up the kids lunch slicing cheese and salad stuff with the 110. Gave the 110 a quick polish too whilst the kids where eating :)

he he and John... I never use the Tempest in the UK in public. I would get arrested quicker than you can say "bite sized chunks" :D :D :D :D

hah! The closest I could get to any of those is the adobo and fried rice my dad made last weekend for my brother's family.

Pork or Chicken? My wife makes da bomb Chxn adobo. I asked her if she ever had pork adobo and she looked at me like I was makin' it up. She's a haolie all right. Blonde, blue eyes, and Hawaiian only by injection. the next day at the grandson's b-day, the filiipina grandma from the satan side of the family had pork adobo made. Pork was great, but the adobo sauce Mrs Goose makes is better.

Anyway, today, I'm cleaning out the garage (it's one of those tasks that has to be taken slowly...a week at a time). I come across this mason-ball jar...whatever those home canners use. Five years ago, a buddy gave me some tuna he canned. I was gonna walk it to the garbage can. Then I wondered how it smelled. The seal was tight...had to use the 889SBMF to pop the lid. Hell, the stuff was great. I was sitting on the curb like a bum when the new neighbors pulled up, just sittin' there eating the tuna outta the jar with my knife. They think I'm odd or scarey...maybe both.

So, today's cut job was tuna and more cardboard with a 889.

I used the S30V blade on my 110 to cut a 50 foot roll of plastic ground cover in half. It cut through the stuff like it was hot butter :). I love it when your tools perform as expected.

Goose,
I've discovered that there are two types of adobo, wet and dry. The "wet" kind has the sauce. The "dry" kind is marinated but without the sauce and is simply fried. My wife makes both and I've developed a fondness for the "dry" adobo. However, several of her friends make the other kind so I get to have both on a regular basis. ;) The good thing about adobo....you don't have to worry about cutting it, just spear it with a good pointed 110. (How's that for staying on topic?) :D
