If you see what looks like a giant bush wearing sneakers and with a clothespin on its nose, you'll know that's me in your back yard sneaking around in my ghillie suit, trying to filch one of your pick-a-nick baskets.

Hi Yall Buck Knife Knuts... We are still hunting. Been at it pretty hard. But thingk I will rest a bit now with my score this morning.

So here is what I cut today with my 110 and 121. Used the 105 some but I seem to prefer the 121.

This one field dressed 115# which is about 5 more than the heaviest we have taken so far. It has a 17 inch inside spread, 18.5 outside, and the tall tines hit 8 inches.

Am having Buck forum withdrawals and as I have scanned some of the threads I see new names, avatars(whats whith that?), and topics that I will never catch up with. Got the wirelless net setup and working on the laptop out to our rv, but then the AC power converter went south. So back to timeshare on this one in the house.

WH4F, tell the Mrs congrats on her deer. Gotta love those A-Bolt's, Mine is a 270 Stainless Stalker
And saw a cutie at the wild game dinner the other night that had on a t-shirt. Big letters. Will Hunt 4 Food. :)

Dropped in his tracks.

Season here runs right at two months (Nov/Dec). Then we have a two week doe & spike extension first couple weeks in Jan. This hunting is hard work. I need a nap

It really has been fun so far. Couple of Javelina hogs, 4 bucks of 8pt or better, one Gobbler, one ratcoon in one trap, and a skunk in another one. Dad claimed he pops the skunks and they don't spray.... I won't be hunting that area for a week or so.

Jim,,,you gotta move to Texas. All there is to it. Sat in one stand and watched 7 bucks romp and tromp trying to intimidate each other one afternoon. Pricless.

Mom fried up the javelina backstrap and was really good. No wild taste, tho she said she soaked it in vinegar for a while prior to cooking it. Don't know if she really had to do that or not. The shoulders and hams, we ground and mixed with venison and made pan sausage. Excellent!

Way to go Packrat.I see you got your buck. What a nice one.
I want get to go back to London until Dec. 16. So send some up our
way.

I may just have to do that, Texas is a little warm for me though

LOTS of game in TX, I always wanted to hunt javelinas, and feral hogs too!
Never knew how they tasted though, sounds really good!!!!! I'll have to work on that someday!

The deer on up your way may be a tad larger than around here, hopefully anyway. Hope you get a good one. We are headed home the weekend and then back for Christmas for another couple weeks or so. Seeing any Turkey up there?

Oh yeah, my deer is all cut up and in the freezer. Almost lost a 121. Dad was helping me and kept going on about how nice and light and sharp the 121 he picked up and began using was. :D So thats what we cut with the Bucks yesterday. I slipped the 105 in on him when he wasn't looking and then a while later noticed he was back to the 121. Don't know if it was a preference or he just didn't realize he was using two different knives. The wider blade 470's were laying there but didn't get used. Prior to the 121's and 105, the 470 would be in use.

Did notice mom using a 471 this morning trimming out a ham for breakfast. Told me we had some ham and could have ham and eggs if we had some eggs. :D

Jeff, you should have been at London this am. Is 29 out here and beautiful. Sun just peeked out. Some reported snow flakes at 7am this morning. I should have been out there but giving it a rest till we come back in Dec.

Gotta go get setup and run the deer trimmins through the grinder for hamburger. Catch yall later..

29, boy that is cold.I wish I was there.I got honey doe's to do for the mrs.
So you like that 121 do you?I am ready to get some more deer blood
on my vanguard. The turkey crop up here was not so good this year.I think
we only killed 2 gobbler's so far .We are going back on the 16 th.I want
to use all 4 of of my buck knives, and try to get them in some photo's.
Jeff

Great buck PR! Glad to see you have found a good knife combination.

It's also nice to see a fellow A-Bolt shooter. Mine looks about like yours, .270, with the BOSS, and left handed :(

Thought I should report as well, I took a decent buck in Tenessee Thanksgiving morning, 6 point but 16" inside. He weighed 160, very well fed and healthy. Should be excellent table fare.

He was gutted with an Alpha 277 with rubber scales. I LOVE THIS KNIFE!!! I could not believe the difference in ATS-34 steel. I gutted and skinned a good sized doe, and could still shave like it was out of the box. Very impressive!

My next knife is going to be an AG Vanguard with a rubber handle. That will no doubt be a combination that should handle even a Texas sized skinning and cleaning job.
