What did you do to/with your Becker today?

Used my fireplace 11 to split a little oak kindling and cut open a couple of boxes....

Ethan
Awesome, I use my BK 2 for the same chore... It lives next to the fireplace for kindling duty unless I'm headed out to the woods... Oh and let's see my 24 did a splice job on a dust hose at work today...I switch between my 14, 24 and 11 for edc...

Used my EDC 11 to cut some Briars that were growing all over some free rocks I have been moving to my house for some landscaping. Made three loads already, so tired. These are large rocks! lol

Didn t do much with my beckers today as i was working but managed to wrap everythiing up and find a momentary place for my AH1 on the izula sheath...

First, I used my 11 to open some packages (one was from GSOM - thanks for the goodies... I'll post when I get it finished.)

While I was waiting for the well guy to show up at my mother's lake house (ended up a no-show - his father went to the hospital and is having surgery tomorrow now), I got bored and since there was a nice old oak stump just sitting there, I started chunking my 9 at it. Yeah, yeah, I know, we shouldn't throw knives not designed for throwing... but the other day Ethan posted that he got 37 stitches after throwing his prototype 4, so I figured what the heck....not that I'm trying to emulate his 37 stitches :D) after a few throws to get a feel for it, I was sticking 9 out of 10 no-spin from 3 to 8 feet and 6 of 10 from half spin range. One thing I noticed was that when throwing no-spin, the knife would hit edge up, when I was releasing it edge down. The knife would stick in an inch or better when it hit dead on. The 9 is not well balanced from a throwing aspect, but it can be done with practice.

I would never think about "throwing" a 9.....you got to have some muscles for that it seem but nice to know you had fun and avoid 37 stiches...!

Yeah, well, boredom, too much time on my hands, thinking about stuff (BF posts, ongoing projects, etc) can lead a person to do strange things. Some, stranger than others.

Hey zzyzzogeton.....

Eventually any knife with a Rockwell much over 50 will have a catastrophic event( break)....... That is why you cannot cut anything with a "throwing knife"........ That having been said and with the usual warnings that thirty seven stitches or worse CAN and do happen, it is a lot of fun......BTW my fav throwing object is either an H & B tommy or best of all an Estwing 26in axe...... The Esty is a real thumper, very satisfying.........

I sliced some cheese with my 15. My 15 lives in the kitchen I use it everyday...

Yeah, I know. I'm gonna put a couple of my throwing knives behind the seat of the truck so that I always have them "when boredom hits".

What about a Becker BK9T Throwing Knife? 14" OAL solid handle with a mid-40s RC? A BK26 Throwing Axe? :D One can always hope.:)

I've always wanted to see a BK hawk. More likely to come from kabar in the ZK line though....

A thrower would be fun but, it will probably be a chilly day in Hades before I can cajole John into doing it....LOL......

BTW I designed an absolutely killer tommy/belt axe years ago was one of the most aesthetically pleasing designs I ever put on paper and then I gave it to a good friend to proto and the rotten x.!#<€£ing sob lost the fricking drawing and I never could get it even close....... Oh, damn........

Used my BK14 to......open a letter. Wow that felt anticlimactic....how I long for the woods again....

On another note, please mark down another vote for a BK&T tomahawk!
